Why should he be slandered for teaching the views of Rishonim and Achronim?

You are plagiarizing!
At least credit DovBer:

Maybe there will be a bloggers section at the lecture.
HT are you gonna be there?

More proof that Lubavitch is really just Modern-Otho with smashed hats.

I don't care about the Slifkin "scandal" - nor do I agree with the open attack on the guy - but he is a MO Rabbi, plain and simple.
Why does a Chabadnik jump in to defend and support him?

Or is just that anyone who the main-stream criticizes is found to be acceptable in your eyes?

Keep it up, you guys keep marginalizing yourselves more-and -more by the day.

snags

IT WAS SENT TO ME BY A FRIEND. I DID NOT ENDORSE HIM IN ANY WAY, NOR AM I INTERESTED IN WHAT HE'S GOT TO SAY!

Tzig,
Why the caps?
just point out that your initial post does not reflect any endorsement (to the contrary actually).
And state how the post was a public service for those who are interested in hearing what this controversial person has to say.

oh my, do we have to get so personal. to say that chabad is modern ortho is nuts. no no no,
chabad is too nuts to ever fit into such a small idea of modern orthodox. this is the greatest strong point and also paradoxically the greatist weakness to chabad.
most of the planet can not deal with this idea of no central control. there are many people who point out one or more things that they are not able to understand or forgive and think that this is chabad. there is the old story of the test of the blind men who are given the elephant to feel and tell what it is they think they have in their hands. the world is changing at a pace that few can adjust to. the idea of the Rebbe and chassid is no longer the same as it was up to today. the whole system of orthodoxy is being tested in ways it has never been tested before. to throw one self back into history is only good if you are willing not to make the mistakes of the past otherwise it is just a big waste of time.

Are you saying that hefkerus is a virtue?

Hirshel Tzig - הירשל ציג said...

snags, hefkerus is such a harsh term, let's call it.... Independent thinking!
