Demand of the Day

Here

When they say that people verren meshuga fun leidig geyen they weren't kidding. It seems like in Israel the most important thing on their minds now is having separate - or divided - buses for ladies and gents in cities with major Charedi populations. Not that it's a bad thing, necessarily, it's just not what I think needs to be top priority right now. I think we can safely assume - based on Daas Teyreh being dead - that is a grassroots effort here, and not in a good way. What I mean is simple: In times like these, when we need to take the minds of the masses off of what really matters, like jobs, health and education, there are those that try and put diversions up, so as to make the masses forget about what really bothers them. It might have been kosher cellphones until now, and now it's separate but equal busing. So you have a few Gerrer and Toldos Aron Jews, who seem to put lots of emphasis on these inyonim, and they make a big, big tummel about this. They DEMAND that Egged Bus Co. provide it for them. At least in New York it's a private venture, if you don't like it take a train. In Israel, it seems, they want it all, separate busing provided by the Government.

Truth be told, vos geit mir ohn if they want separate busing? I live here and haven't visited the Holy Land in a loooong time. Nor Vos? I feel like they're making us all look like a bunch of meshugoyim! Then again; there's not much I can do about but write my thoughts. What I do find appalling is the fact that it's quite obvious that this was not something that the Rabbonim realized needed tikkun, rather they were "convinced" by people with way too much time on their hands to get on board, otherwise they'd look like they don't care about "Kedushas Yisroel..." It is good to see, however, that not all were duped into this, most Rabbonim stood their ground and didn't get on board. But we can have a good laugh at some of those who DID sign up for this ridiculous campaign. I think Reb Baruch Mordche Ezrachi prize student of Yeshivas Chevron, and Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Ateres Yisroel is not whom you'd take as the "poster Rov" for this campaign, if you know what I mean. Especially since he seems to think that he's giving some kind of shmuess, judging from the faces and hand gestures I see.

Over and out.

You're right. It does make you look like a bunch of meshugoyim. To the average unaffiliated American Jew gender segregation is worse of a mark against a group than the craziest of boreinuniks.

kvar milosi amuro kamo pe'omim, that these people are being mehane yidden, and you should appreciate this fact.

1) this campaign gives them something to scream about

2) it gives extra busdrivers parnoso.

3) it gives you something to write about

4) it gives us something to laugh about.

I just wish I could accomplish as much as them.

I love it when Litvaks try and atone for the last 100 years of indiscretions by moving 180 degrees to the right.

Soon we'll see separate sidewalks in lakewood too.

Hirshel Tzig - הירשל ציג said...

I don't believe there would be extra buses. They're probably gonna convert certain bus lines to "Mehadrin." That means no new drivers.

I don't know why R'Ezrachi joined, but this is not the path of DerLita.

Your blog is to attack (in your words *defend*)Snags, so why prove again that Chasidim have taken Yiddishkait and turned it into Talibankait.
I'm not sure how much you know about the inside doings by your "friends" The Góra Kalwarians{און מיט דעם מיין איך לפני ולפנים

Oh, btw, have you gotten over your "weeping attack"?You posted earlier that to read the "chutz Mechabad"letter is to weep "though, we always knew"Vekahn haben shoi'el:If you "always knew" why the sudden "crying attack"??

My family won't suffer because Shabbos shtei ich mit a tefach hecher... But you will see that I mentioned Ger and TA. I was surprised that Ezrachi joined, it's not very like De Lita at all.

But I thank you for looking out for my well being.

Enjoy your Shabbos too, my friend.

Hey,

I''ll relate a story I had many moons ago visiting Telz Cleveland auf a shabes and being surprised that for every meal one of the roshei yeshiva joined the boys and sitting together with them with his whole family, including rebbitzen mit techter.

How about answering (honestly) about your "weeping" episode?

Anyways, he is going through rough times and people become desperate bishas hadchack

I would have expected 'Bob who is exposed to the 770 level of prishah to be apposed to this, just like I coul've predicted that the all the other blooggers who have TV's and used to go mixed swimming, thought this was rediculous. V'dal

It is a gemara in Kesubes that batulah meyveey liydey shuamah. It also says mavey liydey zimah (and was referring to a married woman)I wonder if it is interretlated in this context

These misheguyim need to be locked up in an empty house....all of them together, so they can focus on fixing everything wrong with the world. And while they're at it, make sure there are enough copies of Michtuvim uMamoorim from Moron Shomer haKedushe....as Mein Kampf isn't available in yiddish yet.

Twistelton-Twistelton said...

What do you care? I’ll explain it simply; it will only take a short time before these Chumros become Halacha, and of course will be implemented in Chutz Laretz. In a generation that is getting frumer and frumer in these inyanim it will so become Assur to walk down the same street as someone of the opposite gender!!! In the last 20 years, I have seen a tremendous shift in these Inyanim. Just a few examples, the Litvish stopping to include the wife’s name on invitations, the current unacceptability to hitch with the opposite gender, every Litvish shul having a separate ladies entrance ( not just a common entrance to the Bais Medrash and Ezras Noshim), etc etc!

Hirshel Tzig - הירשל ציג said...

Twisty,
What do you know, Skverr Town already has seperate sidewalks for each gender!
Wisely enough the signs about it are in Yiddish so the "regirung" and others don't become to interested.
Chasidim are quite scary.
Interesting to note is the frummer we/they get the bigger problem we have with the "Off the Derech kids"
Interesting to note that Lubavitch suffers just as much or more with Off the D, though they are quite easygoing on their youth.

'Zeh liumas Ze'. The immense kedushah of degalim cause the concept of a degel of Tumah, like Sakmar Rav says about degel hatzyoney.
Lifeey Divareynu, especially amongst those that don't recognize the tumah of the degel hatziyoney, the yellow degel would be the leumas zeh.

Is this the burning issue of the day? Does it warrant the resources, time and bitul Torah? Is this what is holding up the geulah?
I guess the better solution is what the Chassidic ladies do here in the US.
They take taxis when it should be the men who shouldn't be driving as it is basically men who have the Yetzer Hora to go places where they shouldn't.
How truly messed up are we?
I would suspect that the gedolim of previous generations would look at us as being total misfocused mental midgets.

A Gut Shabbos Yidden.

What he meant was that one is only a shliach when one is doing the mayseh shlichus. The Rebbe sent you on a mission to do certain acts in ek velt. The shlichus is on the acts, therefore it is a misnomer to call him a 'Shliach' as a title.

Once we are on the topic of simaney tumah...

We know that the siman tumah of a chazir is not merely the fact that it doesn't chew its cud, but, the fact that it has an outward siman taharah means that it is a 'semel' of tumah and in a certain bechinah, is more tumey than the others.
Just like two things that are similar on its face- this week, the two sieyrem and Yakov and Eysuv in the early stages- that is an indicator that the inner differences are even deeper than those that don't share the same outward similarities.
So too, the chazer fees indicate a deeper divide in the shrushim
Therefore, the religion that is the 'religioun of love' and preaches equality and peace- it is not a coinicidence that it was responsible for the direct opposit of that, aderaba, hey hanoysenes. V'dal

Just to add a note of reality from E.Y...

It is ILLEGAL to set up your own bus line in competition of Egged. Several attempts have been tried to get around it and shut down by the government. First they called it "private", you needed membership. Then they called it FREE and just put a "support the bus" pushka by the driver.

So while I don't support this, one point for the American's needs to be Medinat Yisroel doesn't give them a choice of working out their own way.
