I'm on your side here!

(No! it's not the same picture as the previous one)

So it's official. I'm now an "anti-Semite" because I look at a man who needs to be all different than the rest of the world and call a spade a spade. Not only that; this is one of the people who are the cause of so much machlokes and heipech kevod hatorah in the world today, where gedolei yisroel are openly and brazenly defied and maybe even defiled. This is a man whose presence causes a commotion such as never seen before in the "Torah" world; where a man walks in and basically chases away such greats as R Chaim Kanievski and R Michel Yuda Lefkowitz from their own eyniklach's vort! This is a man who has shlepped the Yeshiva world in secular court in Israel, whose goons threw leben at a 90+ year-old Rosh Yeshiva, and whose actions caused the greatest "demonstration" for Koved HaTorah ever assembled. I'm speaking about the time last year when almost all the Rosh Yeshivos in EY were mocheh against the terrible chillul hashem that Deutsch and Markowitz perpetrated last year. You would think that the ones who wave the banner of Torah would be upset at that and call him out over it, but I guess the proverbial "wool" is pulled down very tightly here in the US; nobody seems to know what he's done, and they still demand his "Kovod haTorah."

A good friend of mine, a very proud Litvak, (well, actually he only wishes he could be a Litvak, he's as Polish as they come) told me that it's something like this: that a Satmarer can poke fun at a Vizhnitzer and vice versa, but a Litvak can make fun of neither. So goes the world. The same is true for the non-Jewish world; a white guy can't make fun of Blacks, but Blacks can make fun of themselves as well as of Whites. Jews also have it good when it comes to satire. There they say the reason is because of all the persecution that Blacks endured in America for 300+ years, and the same may be true for Jews as well. I would also be upset if a Litvak or any non-Lubavitcher would be poke fun at a Meshichist, despite my vehement opposition to that movement. I would see it as an affront to Lubavitch and the Rebbe as a whole, not a beef with the shittos of a Meshichist. I guess what's good for the goose is good for the gander, (if that is an appropriate analogy) If you don't like when others do it don't do it yourself neither. You can count this post here as an official "apology."

  1. I don't think you know anything about R'Osher Deutsch so don't use that as a pretext to explain your previous post.Happens to be that in the story with the engagement which can be watched online, he did not do anything, he was the one who got catcalls.
But that is sooo not the issue.
The issues was your mocking of a yids peyos. That's what the Nazis used to do.

  2. of course he did nothing, all he did was walk into the lion's den.....

I'm sorry, I thought the Nazis' crimes were the murder of 6 Million Jews, among some 30 Million others, but now I see the crime was that they laughed at peyos....

As someone who has been around since you founded the blog,I can say that the peyos blog is typical of you.
You attack, imply nasty things about non Lubavitchers and cannot take the heat when you get forceful reminders.
The newer guys don't know this facet of your personality so they scream about how nasty your attackers are

  5. Tzig,

It's not the payos per se – the man just happens to be quite homely, difficult on the eye, etc. On someone better looking these very same payos would add to the majestic appearance of the man, instead of making him look like a scarecrow.

But I still think that it's probably not the best idea to single any Jew out for their unpleasant physical appearance. Having said that, I am certain that had the good Rabbi hired an image consultant, they would probably tell him, "Rabbi, someone with your face can't get away with such payos."

it was a anti maskilic statement from Reb Mordechai Yoel, thats has noting to do with having the biggest peyoth in a town and country that peyos is the trend.By Hasidim they despised "Belitos" if you know what that means

  13. Story goes as follows. In some Chassidish town, there was one official Misnaged, who was persecuted by the locals for scoffing at Rebbes. One day, word got out that he became a chossid of some local two bit Rebbe. When asked why, he said, ‘you guys can curse out each others rebbes with noe problems, I do and everyone hates me. So I decided to become a chassid and curse out every Rebbe but mine.” When asked, “so why did you pick so and so as a Rebbe” he answered “Because I didn’t want to pass up any of the good ones”. In otherwords which ever Rebbe he picks he cant make fun of.

  14. Tzig,

    These parts:

"this is one of the people who are the cause of so much machlokes and heipech kevod hatorah in the world today"

" man walks in and basically chases away such greats as R Chaim Kanievski and R Michel Yuda Lefkowitz from their own eyniklach's vort!"

"This is a man who has shlepped the Yeshiva world in secular court in Israel, whose goons threw leben at a 90+ year-old Rosh Yeshiva, and whose actions caused the greatest "demonstration" for Koved HaTorah ever assembled."

    Were you serious?

  17. >>I'm sorry, I thought the Nazis' crimes were the murder of 6 Million Jews, among some 30 Million others, but now I see the crime was that they laughed at peyos....

And yet you did not mind when Arthur, may his name and memory be blotted out, said Rav Shach was worse than Hitler! Hypocrite.

I wonder if Rav Deutsch, a man who knows a lot more in learning than you--or any other Lubavitcher, for that matter--knows in nigleh or nistar would be amused that some gevoriner is analyzing his peyos online. Its not just that you're a hypocrite, but an idiot who cannot distinguish ikkar from toffel.

Like all idiots, you are incapable of appreciating mussar. In the very unlikely case that you publish this comment, I am confident that you will retain your arrogant, Korach like posture toward reality, toward Torah, toward God's leaders.

    ReplyDelete
  18. so O Deutsch is G-d's leader?

he must know more than any Lubavitcher, he has the peyos to prove it!

  19. >>he must know more than any Lubavitcher, he has the peyos to prove it!

Korach, My shiksa cleaning lady knows more than any lubavticher--your "leader" included.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Since polemicists usually pull machlokes out of the most convenient hole instead of actually knowing anything, your shiksa cleaning lady probably also knows more than you. So where does that put you compared to rav deutsch, or the Lubavitcher ztl for that matter?
