See Sefer Divre Emunah from the alte Toldos Aron Rebbe who brings a maase from the alter Bluzhover rebbe , during WW1, he was told by followers about pogroms in Galicia and other hareiges , the Rebbe took his beard in hand and said that this was child's play compared to what was coming in the future... and he should not see these persecuations
