Those Hungarians don't have a modicum of understanding, empathy or sechel. Nati Grossman, I have yet to see a sefer from the skverrer ceo, or his father/grandfather. The yungeleit there have produced likutim being melaket from each other, collections of minhagim and lots of other important sheimos.
In general the yiras Shomayim in skver, the willingness to stand against the popular opinion for what's right is an inspiration to all of us.
But seriously, the fact that almost everybody there still keeps shabbos, even with a rebbe like that, is noteworthy.

I have never been a skverer not me not my siblings......I follow all the customs of Mor Yosef Kafah.....
but I posses in my bookcase, 3 very popular seforim of skverer chasidim.. its not on Onion Kugel, cowboy boots and not likutim
Mishpat Habrochos from Rav Vieder who also wrote a strong sefer on Ribis, Rav Vider build himself a name as a strong learner in many halachic fields, Revid Hazhov from rav Einhorn and the sefer of Rav Lunger on Kuntres achron of the Rav lot of chidushim and biurim....
I am not a collector of seforim of skverer authors,
the point is, please don"t spew nonsense before you know facts....
as a matter of argument I dont see why a Litvak should despise Likutim, when the claim to fame of the godol hadoir of the Lita today is only bekius....

ReplyDeleteHowever, I have no sympathy for the skverer at all. He comes with an entourage that is about 10 times larger, than the amount of chasidim he has in the whole eretz yisroel. He literally emptied out half of the population of new square, for this trip, something no other rebbe has ever done. He seems to be on a big ego trip, which explains why he is ok with a teenager burning down a house of someone who doesnt daven in his shul.

ReplyDeleteI have seen the מבואו ועד צאתו out of skver, a likut about tzvibbel kugel etc. and I have seen the teshuvos of their raavad and other such seforim. A cheder rebbe in beney beraq would generally be embarrassed to put his name to this. Of course a lot of paper is used in the process of producing these important works, as well as gold stamp on the cover. But that says nothing about the scholarship, or intelligence of its author.
And remember, these are the front lines of skver, not the plain yungerman at the back.
