I don't know who this man is or isn't, I do know that In 1937 there were 4879 Jews in Staszów.
Four parties were active in Staszów: Aguda, Mizrachi, Poalej Zion and Bund. Jewish Association of Craftprotected the craft’s businesses
The Management dominated followers of Aguda (37.5% of shares), Zionists (25%). Orthodox Jews, Mizrachists and Bund followers had per 12.5% shares each.
Seven organizations were registered in Staszów between 1919 and 1939: Gemiłus Chesed, Association of "Support and Promotion of Religious-Talmud Knowledge Bejs Josef", Mizrachi Association, Scout Organisation Haszomer Hacair, Education-Culture Association Tarbut, Jewish Library of I. L. Perec and Jewish Sport Club Blitz.
So who needed a "ba'al darshan"? and for whom I guess now we know.

attention photo-myster, see in attached link a photo of Rabbi Moses Sofer, in our intial evaluation there are some similarities in the personality "character" of the Portrait of Yisrolik Szyldewer to the one of Moses Sofer, further stundies are called for.
It's not a man its a portrait of a man, in a traditional Jerusalem striped kaftan, seems a little dark although.
