I WARN YOU, IT'S NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!!!! I guess the good Doctor, after doing Tshuveh, decided that Jews were not in this mission with him. He ר"ל converted to Catholicism.
I saw this thing over 20 years ago when it made a serious sensation nationwide and had the NARAL and Planned Parenthood folks all a-tizzy trying to disprove its content. Like I said, I think even halachic considerations allowing the procedure in limited circumstances would have been far too much for him to bear. In his mind he is in better company with the Papists!
Halachah allows it up to the point of Yotzoh Rovo at full term IF the mother's life is in danger. The Papists, meanwhile, say the baby's birth is more important so it will not die unbaptized, even if this means near certain death for the mother!
I say, good riddance, Herr Doktor. Don't let the swinging doors hit you in the backside when you leave.
