ReplyDeleteControversial tought #1: How about connecting each person with his wikipedia entry (if available)?
you mean the AMERICAN spelling. Also, I doubt they all spell it like that.
ReplyDeleteI can never please you all. Now I have to link to Wiki?
Maybe.
"you mean the AMERICAN spelling. Also, I doubt they all spell it like that."
ReplyDeleteWell, I mean the letterhead spelling of at least RYK (at least after the war) RSK and RNK and the grandkinds...

"I can never please you all. Now I have to link to Wiki?"
We cannot reach perfection but I think we should strive getting there. :-)
"Succeeded by the current Rebbe"
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth are you talking about?
"BG (SBG) = Bere, Ber'ke Barry Gurary. Only grandchild of the FR. 1923-2005."
ReplyDeleteThat should be RBG.
says you.
ReplyDeleteharav hachosid.
ReplyDeleteAre you denying he received Semicha?
ReplyDeleteLooks like your blog is more about CB than CH.
ReplyDeletePSOL
ReplyDeletenot denying, just being realistic.
More about CB, good point!
You haven't addressed the 'current Rebbe' solecism.
ReplyDeleteIn correct Litvishe Yiddish its der Freierdiker Rebbe meaning the previous rebbe, the freyedike (without the r at the end) may mean the happy rebbe .
ReplyDeleteIn Chabad one is not makpid on titles so I for one could care less if Bere Gourary is called rabbi, Reb, or just plain Bere or Berke or Berel. In Toldos levi Yitzchok we read that Anash called the Rebbe's father a Rav and yoshev al Midin by his first name with no titles.
Why did everyone on the list die but FR passed away. And what happened to BG in 2005? He went to the happy hunting grounds?
ReplyDeleteI take it from your two day failure to answer that you are embarrassed by your reference to the 'current Rebbe'.
ReplyDeleteembarrassed? sure, sure. whatever makes you happy.
ReplyDeleteHershele
ReplyDeleteRSG should be RASHAG, keyodua, that the sons and sons-in-law of the Rabeim were not called by their name but by their initials. Hence Rashag Ramash etc. as it was spoken.
huh... thank you for this thoughts ))
