ערליכע אידן מיט אידענעס פארן אין מיאמי זיך אפרוהען פון די שווערע ארבעט. דארט איז די לופט ווארעם, און מאכט גרינג אויפ'ן הארצן. דארט קען מען זיצן אין בית מדרש א גאנצן טאג און לערנען במנוחת הנפש אהן זיך זארגן וועגן די שווערע קעלט אינדרויסן. מ'קאן גיין שפאצירן און די שטילע געגנטער, אדער בלייבן אין די קילע קאנדאמיניאמס - ווי איינער. אלץ פונקט אזוי ווי אין שטאט, מיט'ן אידישען/לבוש, כמנהג אבותינו. טראץ דעם וואס די רבנים שרייען חי וקיים אז מ'טאר אהין נישט אהינפארן זעהט אויס אז מ'קאן יא דארטן דינען דעם הייליגן באשעפער - אפילו אז אין געוויסע געגנטער איז שווער נזהר צו זיין מיט שמירת עינים. מ'זעהט אפילו אז מ'לאזט אהינפארן אינגע בחורים ווען מ'דארף האבן א "ברוך קל עליון" זינגער אדער סתם א הויזבחור אויף צו האלטן דאס טלית זעקל פון דירה אין ביהמ"ד אריין. היינט זעהט מען שוין טאקע - אפשר צוליב דעם - אסאך מער אינגעלייט וואס פארן קיין מיאמי - אדער צפון מיאמי וכדומה. דער עולם היינט פארשטייט שוין דעם ווינק וואס מ'זעהט צוזאמען מיט אלע גרויסע כרוזים און מודעות וועלכע אסר'ן אהינצופארן - חוץ פאר אלטע און קראנקע אדער שוואכע אידן וועלכע פארען אהין לצורך רפואה. יעדער איינער איז שוין היינט "קראנק" למחצה, לשליש ולרביע, און איך זוך מורה היתר אהינצופארן, בפרט טאמער דארף זיך אפגעבן מיט אן אלטען טאטע'ן אדער מאמע'ן. וד"ל

דאס וואס מיר זעהן דא קאן יא זיין א שטיקל חידוש; אידן ווערן צופייערט און פארפלאמט ביי שאלישידעס פונקט ווי אין די הייליגע באראפארק און וויליאמסבורג! אויף דעם האב איך זיך שוין נישט גערישט. איר פארשטייט? מיינע זיידעס און באבעס, כאטש זיי האבן אפשר מער געליטן ווי די זקנים דא, און טראץ דעם וואס זיי שטאמען אויך פון ארץ הגר, זענען נישט געפארן קיין פלארידע יעדעס יאר ווי עס איז היינט שוין די מאדע. איך געדענק אפשר איין מאל וואס איין באבע איז געפארען, און דאכט זיך אהן די זיידע. זעהט אויס אז לא זכינו - אדער לא זכו, בעסער געזאגט. זיי האבען נישט פארשטאנען וואס די היינטיקע זקנים פארשטייען....היינט צו טאג איז שוין כמעט א מצוה אפצוזיצן דארט חדשים לאנג, בפרט נאך ווען מען קען זיין בצילם של גדולי עולם, וואס דער עולם אין ניו יארק קאן דאס נישט! ס'איז אכשיר דרא! א וואקאנס מיט אלע מעלות... די ניו יארקער עולם גייט וואכען אהן טישן און אהן תפלות פאר'ן עמוד, און אהן דעם אז מ'זאל קענען אריינגיין צום רבי'ן מיט א קוויטל. אבער די זקנים - זיי קאנען יא. זיי זעהען דעם רבי'ן ווי ער איז אויפגעלייגט, און ווי ער איז מיט ווייניקער דאגות און מוה. כ'פארגין זיי מיט'ן גאנצען הארץ. זאל זיי וואויל באקומען. זיי האבן עס ערליך און כשר פארדינט.

    Perhaps I'll help you out, or perhaps you'll help me out.

    I came to an observation recently while reading about the Rebbe's meeting with the Gerer Rebbe (I think the Pnei Menachem). They had a siyum yerushalmi and the rebbe suggested that in the next machzor they include Mishanyos that have no Yerushalmi on them. It seems that whenever the Rebbe met another Rebbe or was in contact with a litivsher godol, he always gave unasked for advice in public, as if other Rebbes couldn't handle things on their own. I don't believe that other Rebbes or gedolim acted in a similar fashion. Other examples that come to mind are suggesting to the Belzer Rebbe that his chassidim learn Pailesher chasidus, asking R. Moshe Feinstein to put on Rabeinu Tam's tefilin. This seems to show a bittul for others and perhaps an excessive self confidence.

    This seems in contrast to the Rasha"b. In one of the letters, someone (perhaps the Rayat"z) suggested that he ask the Sefas Emes to detour to Lubavitch when he was in Russia to talk about an important k'lal inyan. The Rasha"b responded that it would not be respectful (שלא מן הנימוס) to ask the Sefas Emes to come to him. I don't think that the Rasha"b spoke to other gedolim with such a bittul as the last Rebbe.

  6. I don't know about the Satmar Rebbe but the Bobover Rebbe never went to Miami until he was old and needed to for health reasons.

    His son R' Benzion went this year because he thinks it is Rebbish. R' Mordche Duvid went to Bell Harbour after yomtov, gave a shiur there and the bochrim there testified he was in Beis Medresh all day, like a fartifter bachur. Does that mean that R' Benzion is the real Rebbe. I think in Boro Park it does....

    The Lubavicher Rebbe did not go on vacation because his secretaries typed out letters all day and please prove me wrong, but the large majority of chassidim have no idea what he really did between shachris and mincha all day ! Unlike Poilisher Rebbes who take kvitlech every night, the Rebbe often spent nights at home with his wife !

  10. the rebbe offered his unsolicited advise, unlike his predecessors, because unlike his predecessors he was the nosi hador.

    which reminds me, my unaffiliated mixed yeshiva taught us (in the '80s) that the rebbe is the nosi hador, because of asher nosi yechte, nisht do einer vos ken duch azoi gut zindiken, vi a nosi ken.

    The Rebbe saw himself as above pther gedolim and rebbes and never made it his business to come to their events, shivas and the like (yes i know he went to RMF) and for sure had no a'yin tova' for other Jewish groups he claimed to love.

    The Rebbe had a very tight schedule and didn't lead a Rebisher Life,his FIL was leading a more malchusdiger life, he was all his life a chosid of the FIL. So he wasn't into small talk with Rebbelech putting on the table the big $3000 silver bowl with fruit of the Orchard of Coney Island ave, with 2 mega Becher and silver tray, (that every eideler Nefesh vomits from this) If he did meet someone he wanted that some good should come out of it, not just discussing if your Ziede izz Geforen Kien Sanz and he received the second Shariem after Reb Lipele.Love him or hate him (as you do very good )he was out of the box and that's why he has his chasidim and the Pnie Menachem was his Chosid and came back again again and called him the Rebbe, believe you me their were no materialistic gains for him to come to the Oracle of 770, he was a chasidisher Yid and saw the real light. and the same story with the Tolodois Aron Rebbe he came despite its against the circle that surrounded him, when the pressure was to much, he stopped going but Reb Dovid was by the Rebbe and learned by Reb Yoel and By Reb Mendel for years with his approval, chasidisher yiden know where they had to go, even by the Yidel with BENTDOWN hit.

  15. this 2 rebbes look like 2 oisgeshlofene bachiswith pajamas,My parents were also holocaust survivors had heart problems and were sitting in NY in shuls in the winter time and in the summer time horoiven on Abaye Verovo,till they fell in to bed,what exactly was the Bobover resting from? he made too many rounds simchas tora,?

It is well known by anyone who spent any time in Bobov that he was at the mikvah between 4:30 and 5 every day to learn before shachris for which there are hundreds of eydei riya over the years (it would be thousands but not many Boro Park people are up at that time) aftertaking kvitleach till past 2 many days.

  19. Funny how when the Rebbe davened fast, he had thousands of kavonos per second. If the Satmar Rebbe did it, you would say he is nothing special....you know why???

    Like so many others the whole thing for you is not real. You want to believe in the football team you support and put all others down because it has nothing to do with avodas hashem.

    If it did, you would see chabad helping Aish Hatorah and Or Sameach when it would help bring people to yiddishkeit, or put yourself through relentless open self criticism like the baalei musar.

  21. When was Reb Shloma in town? between Whitelake and Palm springs? whom did he kvitel till 2 oclock? Bobov was a few hundred families bfore his petira, and nobody out of Bobov checked him out for a kvitel, don't hak a chienik for someone that knows the place as a neighbor.

A Rebbe that sits in Miami with Bigdie Tzivonin is Mischaev Benafshoi to be mocked, the Holy Klausenburger never went to Miami he said shovavim torah for hours in the deep winter weeks, he was sicker then these 2 Bachis, the old skulener was in town with a heart that functioned only 50%, its not a lubavich matter, they were not role models for avdus hashem period.
