Bray-If you're planning on trying the Skverer lifestyle then stay away from Talks and Tales and Shmuesen mit Kinder. This type of reading material will have you humming old Habadsker niggunim and then some.Reader's Digest and Saturday Evening Post are OK.Likutei Moharan can be read in the basement of the old "chalupe" on Eisenhower Court by kerosene lamp.Put it back under the milk crate so the next fella can find it.
What is worth noting, that Reb YY was not even the eldest son of his father. In fact his older brother who was the father of the Skvere Rebbe of BP was the the Skverer Rebbe. Reb YY was known in the 1950's as the Kolrashere Rebbe.
Bobov was known as the place for Talmidei Chacomim. Geonim like the Tarnpoler Rov, The Arigas Habosem, Techbiner Rov, Sotzer Rov, Pravizner Rov and many other's were all big Bobover fans.
Belz on the other hand was famous for producing nice sketches for the Purim Tish and Cossack dancing for the Rebbishe weddings.
Reb Mordchei Dovid of Bobov is no Rav Elyashiv. But its still pretty impressive to see a current Rebbe which seems to be a decent Talmid Chochem, in hot epes tzi farkoifen other than petty folk-tales.
The real question is whether any Rebbe can make you well when you are physically ill. I know it sounds crazy but that is why people went to Rebbes in the old country. That's why Rebbes took pidyones. If they can't cure your problems they should return your money. Learning is for Rabbonim and dayyonim not for Rebbeim. You want learning go to a Rosh Yeshiveh. Now as far as I know there are prescious few miracle workers in BP or Bnei Brak.So maybe all the admorim should resign and become managers at Home Depot? Yidn went to the Besht to hear a siur or to get a yeshueh? If the storekeeper doesn't have the merchandise that you paid for, should he remain in business?Even if a Rebbe said Toreh it was sisrei teyreh that is related to powers of working miracles, etc.
Home Depot? Manager? I don't think they can get an interview fuggedabout getting the job. What skills do they have? Maybe vaudeville would be suitable.
Hey Yold ! Nothing like the yolden who give away their money to rebbes for what ? because they know how to give a shiur. YOu can get it for free in other places. But an after thought maybe its those cool dance moves they are paying for. Some of these guys should be with dancing with the Stars.
Tzig, I'm 100% positive that all the anti chasidic comments will atleast bring you 1 or 2 new Lubabs to practice the Tanya.
You can make whatever fun you want, but the guy you are making fun of his name is Reb Yakov Yosef Twersky, and he -as young he was- was admired by the eldest Rebbe's in his generation.

Bobov chusid. You are confusing belz with Telz and Bobov with Glogov.
ReplyDeleteWhich Glogov -the one in BP or Antverpen?
ReplyDeleteAnon/Beaver
ReplyDeleteit seems you don't know the Bobover story that chebiner ruv said that RBZ the 1st is the Sar Hatorah, because he quoted a Pnie Yehoshua,
Is Gloukov much better then Boboov?
ReplyDeleteThere was only learning in Glogov.
ReplyDeletecan you name a Ruv or dayan of Glukov?
