In retrospect, Mr Albert Freidman is quietly thanking you for helping his struggling paper to gain massive exposer and instant fame. Think about it Der Yid or De Blatt would cartwheel backwards to be quoted on CNN and FOX.

  4. What a classic case of kill the messenger. You say the editor is concerned that we shouldn't look like the Taliban. Well if we act like them why are we any different? He can either defend his position and apologize for unwittingly breaking the copyright rules or start publishing photos of females.

Blaming others for publicizing what he believes is right is nisht ahin in nisht aher.

  5. Hirshel, I to think that you did nothing wrong by exposing the picture which was done in a satire/comical way not c"v in a hateful way, however the fault is more in the so called yiddishe print papers which are all charedish orientated and followers from the first one named der yid, der yid was the only chredish papers for many years while RYT z"l lived and almost never printed 'any' pictures of live people, since they started to stray and printing pictures of ‘rebbes and politicians’ that’s what got them into this dilemma.. maybe its time to get back to their roots! and stop printing ANY PICTURES as they well know it was against RYT z"l wishes who they claim to follow.

  6. I don't think you have anything to feel bad about here. These people
need to once-and-for-all understand that we all live in a fish bowl
today – nothing is really private. If they wish to not use picture of
women, they have only one legitimate way of doing it – just don't use
them. Maybe now they will begin to understand.

What get's me mad is some of your commenters still think it is a
jewish pride issue! As if simply not using pictures with women is
somehow a 'lesser' approach. No, the must use them and they must blur
    them, cut them, etc. Morons!

  7. o put in simpler words – tznius must be practiced in an oifen tzonua.
printing blured and altered pictures of women is not that. and that is
what makes them appear 'taliban-like'. not their underlying editorial
policy of not printing women's pics and certainly not Tzig's exposure
    of this insane Hillary edit!

"since they started to stray and printing pictures of ‘rebbes and politicians"
the Der Yid has no option with the pictures, the youth started reading the Blatt from the other Tietel brother, that has a more geshmake flavor with pictures. So they did what a satmarer does for parnosa, you make a 360 degree turn and they also started printing pictures on a big scale. The youth is probably coming back, and Klien Ice cream will advertise again.

  19. in the newspaper "machzikai hadas" which was published by R` shimon sofer while 'others' took credit for it... such was not to happen. belz rebbi was carefull, in belz in general - i"m talking about belz in the heydays its peak in glory years of the muddy swampy tiny village in poor galaziya, these primitive towns people were so against pictures even from men, they even banned the camera, today is a diiferent world, they pick and choose, whatever is fits them better.
in contrast in bobov pictures were carefully handeled, the rebbi even gave in his own hachnoses sefer torah on yom tov shevous, so there should be no pictures. a true tzaddik unlike other fonies.

  20. Hirshel:
If I remember correctly, you once printed an edited picture which removed the Satmar Rebbetzin (she was standing in the corner...). Maybe you should republish that to prove that it's nothing personal against Clinton, but even the most esteemed lady in that society is removed. Use your discretion if this will help or hinder the cause...

  24. Your words are on my heart like a Chabatzker gartel. Your blog turns peeople off from Chabad. Reading it, I would think that Chabatzkers are nuts and fundamentalists. In real life, they can be real nice people - especially those who read the dates on the letters 'very-quicly' and don't 'get into it' - who can even give other's their space. it doesn't make sense. you are your own worst enemy. You are running a one-man PR apparatus that is against (assuming you care what we think) chabadd.

Are you by trade a Doctor? and you checked the Chabad tribe?
Or you haul a 18 wheeler, and you saw the Chabad tribe car manners to be unstable?

  28. Anon 12:03,
When Tzig says "I wish I knew what you were saying, but I don't" in reality he means, "I know you are right, but I cannot admit to being wrong" so he obfuscates by trying to demean you.

And I do agree that some Chabadzkers are well meaning and good people, though they are a bit "off", thru no fault of their own,but I thing the Tzig, belongs to the "other" group in Chabad.Elephant like memory for past slights or perceived slights.Regurgitating 200 year old fights, dwelling on stories from the Holocaust, while "conveniently" forgetting what was (not)done to help the cause here in the USA, WHILE UNBELIEVABLE EFFORTS and waste of political influence to save Dantes Inferno and other classics.

So yes, there are well meaning people and then there are the partisan misfits who are well accepted in Crown Heights and it's theological environs, party central for all the johhny-come-latelies, the social misfits and worse.Unfortunately the Tzig belongs to the latter.

Uh-huh, I do expect this to be posted with heavy censoring

  29. Anon 1:17,
