It's a shame that you have a poor recording. (I have a great one) The chazan is the late Tzelemer Rov z"l. He was a fabulous Baal Tfilla. FYI. The first day Slichos was said on Motoei Shabbos. Tzig...I'm curious to know what made you put this recording onto your blog.
the Tzelemer Ruv starting saying Selichas at 1 in the morning after he arrived on the US shores, since then, the majority were Russian Litvish immigrants
The Tzelemer Ruv was a very talented person. He was a great Baal Tfila, a Mohel, a Shochet and a Sofer. He was an extremely nice person a true 'onov' and a Masmid Talmud Chochom. A fartzaitishe Ruv without a hired PR firm. Zecher Tzaddik Livrocho.
Could barely hear the chazan, mostly hear noise and "Umein"
