Did all yeshivos decide not to take the Gruss/BJE/UJA money in 1971?
On Friday we discussed the The signed proclamation of several Rabbonim not to partake of the monies that Mr. Joseph Gruss arranged for Yeshivos and other mosdos to get from the UJA's BJE. These 2 pages beg to differ. They say that only the YRSRH of WasHeights refused it. And that the others took it with both hands and even thanked Gruss & Co. in the NYT. So who's telling the truth here? If Rav Moshe Feinstein would have signed such a declaration I don't think the Yekkes would be pounding their chests so. Is it just misinformed, or is the proclamation that we brought not true? Or is it somewhere in the middle? I thank an anonymous reader for sending this in.

and if he did? I grew up in a shul where the rov was a farbrente satmar chossid, and during the yom kippur war they made an appeal for israel bonds.
How about after the YK war? Not that your story makes sense because in America they didn't know that the the YK war broke out until AFTER Yom Kipper, unless your TV was on a Shabbos clock, like the Satmar Rav's Tape recorded davening on YK.... ;) vda"l.

Lozmirup davened in the shul of a baal ruach hakodesh, satmar, who sold Israeli bonds before he knew the Yom kippur war had broken out. Alternativly, he davened in a chasidishe shul who's rov sold israeli bonds on yom kippur k'minhag america from the founding of the state.
AFAIK Israel was attacked first on YK. Golda'le said שהעולם לא יגיד שאנחנו האגרסרים, or something like that, which is why she didn't attack first like in '67

No wise man, i davened in a shul of polish/hungarian holocaust survivors. The rov was satmar. The yom kippur war went for 2 1/2 weeks. They made an israeli bond emergency appeal during yomtov davening on sukkos.
The point is that some rabbonim are wise enough to separate the people from the ideology. Unfortunately this is in short supply today.
