Yohrtzeit - Reb Mottel Bryski (Chmielniker)
Yesterday, 14 Teves, was the first Yohrtzeit of Reb מרדכי מאיר (Mottel) Bryski, o"h, of Crown Heights. Since I am not of Russian extraction, as most of you know by now, I tend to like and "koch zich" in the outer trappings of people, often giving it way too much credence. His family took this opportunity to write a Sefer Torah in his honor and לעלוי נשמתו and will be מכניס it into the Chabad Center in Agoura Hills, CA, where his son Reb Moshe, is the shliach. The websites also took the opportunity to publish pictures of the niftar and his family, starting from when Reb Mottel was a bochur-tomim in Poland till very recently. His picture as a bochur is what caught my eye - which is why I share this with you today.

I see someone posted a link to the outrageous going ons every sunday and basically every day.This is off topic but this is a basic forum where sometimes such issues are discussed:
ReplyDeleteThis is the result of decades of irresponsible, indiscriminate shlichus. When someone shows up at your door, you throw it open wide and assimilate him or her as quickly as possible. There is no intake process, no psychological evaluation. You've all been brought up to believe that Chabad is the only legitimate form of Judaism remaining, so it would never occur to you to evaluate a young person to determine whether or not he/she is suited to the lifestyle. I've never heard of a shliach who tells a young person, “This may not be the best fit for you.” I don't believe such a shliach exists.
Chabad, like all proselytizing religions, attracts a lot of fringe personalities. The end result is that you now have an entire generation of Chabad BT's who are profoundly mentally ill. They will be your destruction - and you did it to yourselves.

I see that Rav Briski was from a Trisker chasidim family?

Bentzion is a troll. He is an unhappy, wretched excuse for a man whose nephew is a very well-adjusted Lubavitcher (from a Modern Orthodox background).
