אפשר פאר דעם האט מען א נאמען געגעבן דעם ספר "התעוררות תשובה" ווייל ער האט מעורר געווען אידן לתשובה

The holy Erlauer Rav, son of the Ksav Sofer, who was killed at Auschwitz at the age of 94, sent a shliach to the Neology Rabbi in Budapest to speak about Shmiras Shabbos. Had he not been the z'kan hoRabbonim and a grandson of the holy Chasam Sofer - and had it been in the age of the internet - it would've gotten him into a whole lot of trouble with the more zealous factions of Hungarian Jewry, who forbade any contact with the Neologues. This kind of reminds of me of what the holy Lubavitcher Rebbe would do years later, realize that unaffiliated Jews are still Jews, even if they were ostracized, and as such need to keep the Torah and Mitzvos. And if they don't they need to be told about it.

  1. The Holy Erlauer Ruv

I once met an Old Erlauer Yid who told me that he remembers when the Ruv came to be the Ruv for the first time.

The Kabolas Punim was such a joy that the towns people האבען באפרייט די ...פערד פון זיין וואגען

"They released the horses before he entered the town and pulled with great joy the wagon with their bare hands..." That is how he was welcomed as the new Rav of Erlau.

He told me that in tears..

    to get the facts straight,
the erlauer printed the Teshuvas himself, and he named it himself, with the famous banner on every page, that nobody should pasken from this sefer...

  3. Years ago a Rav told me that the Erlauer Ruv told him that the Hisorerois Teshuva used to send Bien Hazmanim, the bucherim to the nursing home to put on tefilin for the elderly Jews that were kept there

  5. The erlauer ruv zl wasnt as holy as your rebbe. he didnt send holy teenage buchrim to holy streets of manhattan in midst of the holy summer to see all the holy naked people while carrying out the holy rebbe's holy shlichus

  7. Do the, words " ee ika darka achrina rosho hu" ring a bell? To avoid histaklus asuros is basic yiddishkeit. especialy to be machshil young neshomos. Any talk of this renders one a menuval? Please. A desire to bring moshiach al yedey yofuzu supercedes halocho ?

  8. The disregard of halocho when engaging in kiruv or " the bigger picture" is nothing new. A reformed jew once told me Gd doesnt care if i carry my umbrella on my way to temple on saturday. In addition Chabad of dor hashvi'i cannot be bothered by trivial chagas'dike minutea. All gedolei olom had at least one or two chumros in mitzvos maasiyos ( not that chumros are desirable but the occasional chumro does indicate something) . I beleive your rebbe was a chad bedoro among all.other admorim by simply ordering take out from mermelstien. No private shochtim etc.

  9. I love Ameratzishe Tzushtells that are cloaked in frumkeit. אי איכא דרכא אחרינא, you say? Tell that to the guys who go to Las Vegas shows, for business, of course.

  11. Zhirus in vos mtut arain in moil was very important in chabad of yore. (As was tzniyus..) . Sakinim hamlutoshim were just one of many hidurim. But you have no time for amharatzus..

I"m not getting involved in this discussion in any way, just calling you, Heshy, on your circular or strange logic.
A)Because other people go to Las Vegas, makes it right?? (according to this fellows logic, at least)
b)maybe he does tell it to people going to Vegas?

As I said I"m not getting involved in this issue, just protesting krummeh logic.I find many Lubavitchers to have this type of krummeh thinking.(and many of the people attracted to Lubavitch)Wonder why?
    And please......

Since you don't know what you are talking about, you don't get your own words.
the reason of doing Mivtzoim on the streets is, beacause there is no DARKA ACHRINI... this is the Heter and chiuv, since bringing back souls for torah is a burning issue.

"A)Because other people go to Las Vegas, makes it right?? (according to this fellows logic, at least)

there is no Godal of today and for sure no Godal of before the war. That prohibited someone to go to Vegas, Paris, Berlin, Leipzig, To put up a show even on womens underwear (or participate as a buyer) (Bigdie Tizvonim)so its a given that for Parnossa you got to do what you got to survive or even become rich.
So there is a concept of Parnosa Ruchnius that is following the path of Avrohom Avinu who taught Lechol Bie Olam that there is a God in out universe, as the Rambam writes that this means Real Ahavas Hashem, you have to Stand Beroish Kol Chutzois and proclaim the glory of hashem, and learn torah with Klal Yisroel even if it will be on the back of your personal Yiras shomaim, this is the derech of Ahavas Hashem of Avrohom Avinu, vs. Chanoch who was sitting in some yeshiva and getting holier by the Minute. It looks very strange and Lubavich style, but love it or leave it, all the above you can see at length in the famous Pituchai Chosem of the holy Chasam Sofer.
