'זמן פוניבז

I write this having watched only 20 minutes of it. It's an intimate look at the Yeshiva from an angle you've probably never experienced. Reb Berel, the Mashgiach Kellerman, younger and older bachurim, seemingly speaking their minds. 53 minutes worth watching. Hard to believe they allowed the cameras into these situations! So like I said; I do not know if they get into the dark side of the Yeshiva today.

  1. Avi Chai (who is behind the film)probably gives a lot of Mullah for the Yeshivah, its a old fund in the USA semi Orthodox,

  2. its funny how they can do this in Ponevez but not Mir of Slabodka. all the poleticians and media come to ponevez.

  4. The film I thought was quite good but sad. The bocherim seemed too timid, too much in the same mold, not just in external dress which is to be expected, but in the way they spoke, the twinkle in their eyes, no display of particular brilliance or sharpness, just a sort of plodding along. I didn't much care for the masgiach, he didn't seem kind, spoke too fast. I did pick up the emphasis on being part of a tzibur, which makes sense when it comes to tefilah but less sense when it comes to learning. ej

  7. even the ones they don't interview look average. Nothing special. Yerushalmis and Chazon Ishniks with long peyos. Young bochurim too.
