Belz in Belgium prints old interesting ads and pictures from archives. They printed this week a full page promotion of Manischewitz matzohs. On the left bottom you see 2 Sanzer einiklech promoting the matzohs. The Bardiuever Rebbe Reb Yitzchok Halberstam (I think Bardiuv is from the Gorlitz geza) said: my whole trip to America was worth it, just to see the high kashrus standard of Manischewitz. I would bless the Jews in Europe to have such kosher matzoh. The other einikel Reb Naftali Chaim of Grivetz said: by Manischewitz I saw everything done cautiously and in the best way possible. If they would know this stuff would be unearthed one day and some crazy would find it would they have said that?
Is it a bigger issue than "Sanzer einiklech" (Bobov klush etc.) today are the biggest promoters of full blown wigs even the SR forbade it strongly plain and simple..?

My grandather ZL was the Bardiyever Rebbe. I know for a fact that he never ate machine matzohs on Pesach (and neither do we). But it might be true, though I've never seen or hear of this psak that just because he didn't , doesn't mean he thought it wasn't kosher. I'm pretty sure that the Gribever Shmigrider famil, his cousins also do not eat machine matzohs.

"How Matzah Became Square: Manischewitz Machine-Made Matzah in the United States had been "round, irregular or oval-shaped" now, largely because of the demands of technology and packaging, it became square - in 1912, indeed, the matzot were specifically advertised as "Manischewitz's Square Matzoths" The issue of square matzah had been debated in the nineteenth century by ("Kluger and Nathanson,") but most matzah, even that produced with the help of a rolling machine, remained round. Matzah produced by Manischewitz and its mechanized competitors, by contrast, was invariably square, though in 1942, specially - V - shaped matzoth were baked as part of the 'V for Victory' movement during World War II.
Just for the record the "Daily News" reports that the "V" for victory! matzoths will now be renamed the Pizza matzoth. So it's not the first triangular matzoth, in 129 years, it just got renamed and repackaged, a sign of the times.. can you put some ketchup in top of the Pizza matzoth? wouldn't provoke thoughts of the "blood stained" Matzoths of yesteryear's.
