20 years of division

(HaRav Yaakov Landa, while serving as Rov of Kurenitz)

Today marks 20 years since the passing of the (2nd?) Rov of Bnei Brak, HaRav Yaakov Landa, z"l.

20 years since the civil cover was blown off certain elements in Bnei Brak.

20 years of hate, division, Sinas Chinom and Chilul Hashem.

Here's to 20 more.

You think I can just stay away from this stuff?

You thrive on these posts so I'm adding a few points to ponder.
Why in heaven would a large percentage of a city be forced to accept a rov they don't want, even if he was the son of the previous rov? When a similar thing happened in Tzfas, when the previous rov Rabbi Kaplan (non LUBAVITCH)died, Chabad Succesfully fought that Rabbi Levy Bistritzky z'l and not Rabbi Kaplans son should become rov, same thing in Kiryas Gat (I berlieve, maybe it's kiryas Malachi though)where Rabbi Gershtenkorn, a Gerer chosid was rov, Lubavitch obviously did not 'allow' his son to continue there.Lubavitch plays it both ways:When it pays for them i.e a Lubavitcher the scream 'yerusha'! when that will mean the rov won't be Lubavitch they complain that you can't force a rov...............

  2. I think the difference would be that in BB HaRav Landa the elder wanted his son to be Rov. Also, the fact that they didn't want the son JUST BECAUSE riled up the crowd

  3. stop thriving in "divisions" and perpetuate divisions; you see the end is that there is deep deep division in every area in L take a look how the CH rabbinate is dividing itself so viciously. One wonders: is it not a "punishment" for perpetuating so much division between other jews...

  5. amshinover,

stop repeating canards and fads that only bring hatred amongst yidden when the facts are far from clear as to who is to blame and who is to be praised etc.

  7. I thinks it's cute, when these »emese Yidden« get all upset and start calling people derogative names – the worst of which seems to be »Baal Teshuva« r''l; that does say a lot about that person's state of mind, doesn't it?

Me thinks that whatever Lubavitch does is inherently right in your opnion,so they can play the cards whichever way is best for them.
Btw you 'tayneh' that Rabbi Landau senior wanted his son to be rov, and that gives him the 'right' to become rov is pure bunk.Rav Landau senior did not own Bnei Brak and therefore did not have the right to give over the rabbonus.

I am Tzig the Lubavitcher who wants more of Lubavitch and for Lubavitch. I also cannot stand by and watch the haters marginalize the Rebbe and Lubavitch.

  10. Reb Yankev was rav in Kurenitz for about 6 months at a very young age (in his twenties) . So this picture of a man in his forties is not taken while he was rav in Kurenitz.
He refused to re assume the position on his way out of Russia to Latvia as he had better things in mind.
My late father studied Gemore for several years one on one with his younger brother Reb Hillke Landau the mashpia of Kurenizt. Hillke was a genius but the eylem would not accept an alter bachur as a rav, so they brough in other rabbonim.Amongst them the last Chabad rav Reb Shlomo Uszpoll HAYAD father of Reb Berel of Ocean Pkwy.
Finally Reb Yankev was responsible for sending Reb Berel Kurenitzer and my uncle Reb Zalman Kurenitzer to TTL and they both became mashgichim in Nigle with the passage of time.
