Gospel singers sing Carlebach(The actual video, right there for y'all to click and view, was too inviting, my guilty conscience wouldn't allow me to keep it up there)Caution: Video contains קול אשה and may include other איסורים More Carlebach for your viewing pleasure
The קול אשה problem starts at about 1:00 FWIW.
ReplyDeleteHow did you find this?
a little bird told me....
ReplyDeleteHT, answer me this, in the name of what can you be involved in promulgating that which is ossur? What trump card do you hold that supercedes halacha and chassidish values? I dare you to provide an answer..
ReplyDeletein the name of human interest, just like the New York Times.
ReplyDeleteI dunno know, brother N, it was somewhat of an uncontrollable urge, I-I-I cou-couldn't help myself, I-I-I ha-had to do it.
Can you find it in your heart to forgive me?
I did warn you.
I 'spose that's their revenge for his doing "spirituals" like "Take Me Back to Canaan Land," "Don't you Weep after Me," etc. etc.
ReplyDeleteBTW, where'd they learn Hebrew? B'mivta Ashkenazis, yet???
ReplyDeleteHow did you find this?
ReplyDeleteIt happens to be all over blogland: Mima'amakim, Aussie Echo, etc. But I believe the source is Ben Katz's website, where you can find it in Windows Media format:

Reb Shlomoleh
ReplyDeletehow goes it in heaven?
It was sent to me by a friend.
I believe you sang it in הברה אשכנזית, at least on one recording.
Tzig:If it was a Yeshiva guy who posted you would already be 'preydiging' about the lack of yiras the rebbe(or shomayim, for regular Jews). But we know you are all talk anyway.
ReplyDelete----------------------------------'I dunno know, brother N, it was somewhat of an uncontrollable urge, I-I-I cou-couldn't help myself, I-I-I ha-had to do it.'
----
Btw, Tzig, 'dunno' is a slang version of 'do not know' so there is no need to double up.Todays english lesson
no need to forgive you; i'm not making a judgement; just trying to keep you honest. you are broadcasting to the world, and not only doing it as an individual yid, but as a lubavitcher... and even if the means of your message is ossur, its no big deal, because you have urges...and the end justifies the means...whether its loshen hora, or whatever...this is wild and if you had a real rabbi figure in your life or shul (that goes for a lot of us), your plug would have been yanked out a long time ago....
ReplyDeleteN!
ReplyDeleteN!
ReplyDeleteWhy all the anger? This is a harmless place. People blow off some steam, they have some contact with other Jews from accross the world, and once in a while something useful even comes out of it!
What's with the plug-pulling? Do you think that this type of thing is worse than the average conversations between people that it should be censored?
can someone prove that there is actually an issur with recordings? me thinks not.
ReplyDeleteHershel got it from the major frum forums which had it up in the pasr 2-3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteBut you won't put this up hershel will you?
Had I found this, I could not have resisted the temptation to blog it either.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting "lip" from everybody, including some family members. Beginning to feel guilty.
ReplyDeleteTzigele, I wouldn't watch it anyway, and I had suspected that was why you put it up.
ReplyDeleteAny comment on the mentalblock feature "The Rebbe dropped Mihu Yehudi because of PR?" a) The Rebbe dropped? When did this happen? b) Because of PR?
As well as his continued comments that this was the same time as being "burned" by falashas. Other than in the mind of Scott Rosenberg, when did this happen? Has Tzemach truly become a conspiracist?
BTW, Ben Katz's Shlomo Tribute Page
ReplyDeletehttp://benkatz.com/Pages/shlomo_idx.htm
has a great video link of Reb Shlomo doing his FIRST Mimkomcha in 1990! Don't miss it, but be sure you have QuickTime!
Pischu Li was on the Village Gate album, yes, in ha'avara Ashkenuzis!
Sadly, this is what Shlomo, with his interfaith love everyone ethos, would have wanted. It is a fitting tribute to a very confused neshomo.
ReplyDeleteThis is why bloggers get burned out so quickly, they get no recognition!
ReplyDeleteN where's the love? why no "kudos" for taking down the video?
There is no hate in my post mr. meshushar and plenty of love HT in my notification to you above. Loving you is not just about making you feel warm and fuzzy.....
ReplyDeleteLoving sometimes means opening the eyes of another even if that causes some discomfort
..let me understand...you expect kudos for taking down some portion of an inappropraite site
1) after you offer a disclaimer that its probably ossur and in bad taste in the first place,
2) you justify that uncontrolable urges made you post this,
3) you take it on the lip from me, your family, friends, and bloggers,
4) you maintain the post for as long as you did despite your own guilty conscience....
Kudos man, you are a brave honerable dude of integrity. In actuality, you caved in to pressure despite wanting to hold out with promoting that which is inappropriate. Nothing personal man...just the facts....as far as being appreciated, No one of us feels as apreciated as we expect to be. Probably a new phenominon, who thought like this when we were running from pogroms and hungy half the time. This existential angst needs to be tranformed into somethign positive and selfless(another post).
