Zeide Poritz would be proud.......

"
New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Deborah T. Poritz sits in the Hughes Justice Center in Trenton, N.J., Monday, Oct. 23, 2006. On Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, the New Jersey Supreme Court is scheduled to release its decision in a case brought by seven gay couples who claim the state constitution entitles them to marry. The ruling is to come on Poritz's final day as chief justice."

What is it that compels (I'm sure very well-meaning) Jews to push through this legislation?! Do they really see this as some kind of social justice that they're bound by their distorted view to further? Is this what "progressive" Judaism has come down to?

Besides, she looks like she should be serving Blintzes in a restaurant on the Lower East Side, not deciding such important cases.

  1. Her true ambition in life is to be a chain-smoking gravel voiced farbissener waitress at a LES greasy spoon. She's just moonlighting as an appelate court justice until she catches her big break.

  2. AAMOF she looks like she's sitting in her living room armchair kvelling from her little grandson saying something smart.

  4. It's got nothing to do with chauvinism. The idea of a Jewish Bubbie deciding "landmark" cases such as this is a bit unnerving, no?

The same would be true if an old Zeidy-type would be the sitting judge.

  5. She probably believes most strongly in the filth of socialism that has bedevilled our people for 200 years.
