More Jealous Rantings From Me

Leib Tropper Gets כבוד מלכים In Israel!

I'm jealous. You're right. I also would like to live the good life instead of doing what I do. That's why I try and put him down, that fine, eydeler Yid who brought so many Jews back to the fold while I ate potato chips. That's also why I put down the Belzer and the Bnei Teyreh. What's that, you ask? why did Satmar put down everybody else in their newspapers all those years - and still do? Were they also jealous? Did they see the success of the Agudists and were green with envy? no. Were they jealous of the fact that young men found the answers to their questions in Lubavitch? G-d, no! You don't seem to understand/ Jealousy is a one-way street. Only Lubavitchers are jealous. Everybody else attacks out of very pure intentions. Tropper also had very pure and noble intentions when he attacked other Rabbonim. Only Lubavitch is evil and corrupt. The only question that remains is: does LT think we're still that naive?

  1. From the article:

Pray tell, what is the subject of 'טהרת ישראל' and is Tropper the man to be writing on such topics? The satire here writes itself, even if only on the basis of the title.

  2. I was never one to argue this way, but is there really a point to shemiras shabbos, kashrus etc if the game is so rigged? This is not unlike major CEOs who can do no wrong while their janitors who smoke one spliff are fired after some intrusive urine test. All the little people are subjected to scrutiny with schools, shidduchim, etc while this fellow can engorge himself sexually with people who rely on him as a rabbi and then meet chaim kanievsky. I guess this is where those Kupat Hoir donations go to, as well.

  3. Simple. To get on the sanhedrin one had to be able to provide 150 reasons for why a sheretz could be reckoned as tahor. Leib Tropper can come up with at least that many svoros for why organized prostitution with potential 'giyoressen' and his 'bnei teyreh' is actually a good thing, so in he goes!! Next stop for Tropper - he makes 'godol'....

  4. is this a current picture? what is happening here? the gedolim and the askonim dont buy the story? can someone explain the other side(Troper) of the story

If there is anything that ALL of us who peruse this site it is that 1 generation in Klal Yisroel makes all the difference in the world.

  20. Max Weber applies the term charisma to "a certain quality of an individual personality, by virtue of which he is set apart from ordinary men and treated as endowed with supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically exceptional powers or qualities. These are such as are not accessible to the ordinary person, but are regarded as of divine origin or as exemplary, and on the basis of them the individual concerned is treated as a leader

    ReplyDelete
  21. Weber saw charismatic authority not so much as character traits of the charismatic leader but as a relationship between the leader and his followers The validity of charism is founded on its "recognition" by the leader's followers (Anhänger). This recognition "is not the grounds of legitimity, but a duty, for those who are chosen, in virtue of this call and of its confirmation, to recognize this quality. "Recognition" which is, psychologically, a completely personal abandon, full of faith, born either from enthusiasm or from necessity and hope. No prophet has seen his quality as depending from the crowd's opinion towards himself", although his charisma risks disappearing if he is "abandoned by God".

    ReplyDelete
  22. The characteristics of the charismatic style include:

•Leaders are viewed as having supernatural powers and abilities, the leader is viewed as a hero by followers
•Leaders are followed because of personal trust and the charisma the leader exhibits
•Followers are promoted based on personal charisma they exhibit
•There are no formal offices of authority, power is gained through social skills

  41. sure, Dovy

Reb Hillel was told of the great mofsim that the Viledniker Tzaddik did, that he helped an agunah find her husband, and that he cured a meshugener and made him well. So he said

ווייבער און משוגעים זאלען פארן אין ווילעדניק, דער וואס וויל הערן וועגן יחודא עילאה און יחודא תתאה, (נ"א, דער וואס וויל הערן חסידות) זאל פארן אין ליובאוויטש

Do you know what was behind the Rebbe's suggestion that he change his name?

  50. The tolerance of the host here reminds one of Hillel. Here you got an obvious idiot inane kid calls himself with the name Shimilu, who claims he cant stand fools and therefore resents the host and Lubavitch all the while hurling juvenile vacuous insults and at the same time still feels the need to hang around the site and rant.

In the past I thought the host wants a thoughtful site, but I have to conclude the he seeks argument acrimony which increase traffic no matter the quality of the posters.

  51. nit shein, anonymous. You can question why I allow such comments, and you'd be right for questioning it, but don't conclude the way you did. You try having comments such as that directed at you all day. I'm a person with feelings, even if they don't know who I am, and I don't appreciate being called such names, no matter the number of comments.

  52. Kovod Lubavitch,

In general, comments such as yours are sickening, Al achas kamoh vekamoh, when they come with such an honorable name attached.

What have you accomplished in the past 50 years to be the one to "Defend" Lubavitch?

Befrat, in light of R' Steinsaltz's recent interview on Living Torah, in which he explains that he basically flushed his reputation down the toilet to protect Lubavitch, your comments are all the more nauseating.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Do you know what was behind the Rebbe's suggestion that he change his name?
simple, with a funny israeli name he wont be associated with normative judaism.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Grainom, can you back that up with something, or it's just conjecture?

  55. "with a funny israeli name he wont be associated with normative judaism."

If today's self-appointed representatives of "normative judaism" meet with Naveilim like Tropper and give them Kashrus Shtemplech then R' AEI did the right thing in running away. Hey, maybe we should all try and keep up!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ofcourse just conjecture. Unless he said something publicly does anyone know why the Rebbe did many things? Not a chance, start with why he didn't leave a successor or clearly defined leadership...

    ReplyDelete
  57. According to Arthur Kurzweil, the story behind the family name change is as follows: R Steinzalz's son was L"A not well. The Rebbe suggested that he change his last name to something with more Chesed and less Gevurah (as opposed to the more usual practice in such situations to change or add to one's first name.) And the son's health improved.

Why did Rav Elieshev the pope of Normative Judaism change his name from Arnov to El Yushiv, with Alef and a Bies rather then his Grandfathers(Leshem) way with a Eien and a Vav

    ReplyDelete
  60. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yosef_Shalom_Eliashiv

Yosef Shalom Elyashiv is a grandson of the kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv (the Leshem) (1841–1925) from Šiauliai, Lithuania. His father was Avraham Elyashiv of Homel. His mother was Chaya Moussa Elyashiv, daughter of the Leshem. He was an only child, born to his parents after 17 years of marriage.[1]

Originally his father's surname was Erener, but his father adapted his father-in-law's surname in order to gain a certificate to enter the British Mandate of Palestine. The Elyashivs moved to Palestine in 1922 when Yosef Shalom was 12 years old.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Well, it is interesting that לְאֶלְיָשִׁיב is the 11th family of Kohanim mentioned in דברי הימים א despite the Leshem not being a Kohein.

"Why did Rav Elieshev the pope of Normative Judaism change his name from Arnov to El Yushiv, with Alef and a Bies rather then his Grandfathers(Leshem) way with a Eien and a Vav"

It appears to me that RSYE chose to spell the name correctly as it appears in דברי הימים whereas the Leshem spelled it phonetically the way a native Yiddish speaker would read it.

Naming tnachic names is very Mizrachi style, I guess this was still done in his Hiechel Shloma days, before he became a bigger Kanoi then Reb Amram Blau, I guess the 2nd volume Hashakden will get some alibi for that too

    ReplyDelete
  64. "Naming tnachic names is very Mizrachi style, I guess this was still done in his Hiechel Shloma days"

Whoa! Slow down there, big fellah!

If you have issues with a Tanachic name you had better take that up with his father. All this happened when RYSE was but 12 years old. AFA not changing it or whatever it probably just was not a big priority. This is quite unlike some BT folks I know who could not wait to shed their "goyish" last names to take on one more "yiddish" sounding (the name they took sounds German, if you ask me...).

  65. To this day, and in spite of everything, Leib Tropper is supported by RAS 1000% ! No jokes!

After the public revelations of his trysts with his sex slave conversion wannabe Shannon Orand, Tropper went to RAS and told him a sob story that he was "entrapped" and not his "fault" seems that's the way RAS tells it over to anyone who he can tell this putrid garbage over to.

RAS is irrationally, mamash in love with Tropper and thinks he is "le'eila ule'eila" because ehr ken lernen and Tropper's an expert tuches lekker of "gedoilim" he targets for chanifa. This has been going on since day one of their first meeting about 33 years ago.

Tropper reciprocates to this day, he now even reports about RAS on his dumbo new "כבוד התורה" blog http://www.kavodhatora.com/, such as "Rosh Yeshivas Rabbenu Chaim Berlin in London" October 27, 2010, and see how he "farteitches" RAS's non-shita "shitos" regarding kiruv rechokim, which of course fits right into Tropper's control freak cult leader tactics with his nebech student-victims:

    "Sunday, November 7, 2010

New Sefer on Rav Shach's View of Kiruv

A new sefer on Kiruv, a collection of many Maamorim of Rav Shach, zt"l is being published.

Rav Shach, zt"l had very clear guidelines for 'Avodas Hakiruv'.

There are many differences between the guidelines in Kiruv established by Gedolei Eretz Yisroel and the Gedolim in Chutz l'aretz, shlita.

The Gedolei Chutz l'aretz tend to have a more lenient approach about many issues related to Kiruv.

Hagaonim Hagadolim, Harav Ahron Feldman, Harav Shmuel Kaminetzky, the Noveminsker Rebbe, shlita are very involved in questions pertaining to Kiruv and view the questions from an American perspective.

Hagaonim Hagadolim, shlita Harav Ahron Schechter & Harav Elya Ber Wachtfogel have a consistent view with the Gedolei Ertz Yisroel on most issues related to Kiruv."

Thus spake Tropper, der "menuval shebemenuvalim" as Rabbi Rakefet labeled him berabim.

Maybe this is connected to Tropper's latest trip, in an effort to reinsert himself and reincarnate himself and make himself relevant all over again as "the man" and shaliach of "Gedolei Ertz Yisroel" (from America and Israel, meaning fanatics who don't have a clue about truly humane kiruv) to allow Tropper to continue making the mischief he's known for under a new umbrella.
