הרבֿ יוסף פֿרידענזאָן געשטאָרבן

First place I saw it was on the Yiddish Forverts site... Ironic.

What I mean to say is that despite it happening on Shabbos it went largely unnoticed till Tuesday in the frum press. The press that he was so prominent a member of. On Monday the Forverts reported it first.

    Ah Tayereh Yeed, a great "Ridaktir" (IMO Dos Yiddish Vort was of consistently higher quality than the Jewish Observer)and an incredibly interesting shmoozer.

    Will the magazine die with him?
