So we see two things from these anecdotes; 1) that
Daas Torah amohl was that you could tell even the
Posek Hador that what he's doing
shtimt nisht with what YOU think, maybe then - when he explained himself to you - did you accept his ways; and 2) that not every
Maamar Chazal that you learned in
cheder pertains to every situation, as we clearly see from RYES. Yes,
Reb Shua Leib and maybe the CI saw it that way, but others said we need him in the future, so we need to treat him with respect right now, otherwise he'll throw us לכל הרוחות when we come knocking on his door. אשרי הדור that has מנהיגים that follow in
Reb Yitzchok Elchonon's ways. But if you like, you can always not believe what
Rav Meskin writes here, that always seems to be an option with some people who disagree with what they read, even if it from giants like RYES.

I"m not sure you are "sttacking" here?
ReplyDeleteI mean by chasidim, using a different term hold their rebbeim totally above any reproach, no?
" Daas Torah amohl was that you could tell even the Posek Hador that what he's doing shtimt nisht with what YOU think, maybe then - when he explained himself to you - did you accept his ways"
ReplyDeletedoes this apply to a Rebbe too? or only a Rov or Rosheshiva who isn't kodesh m'rechem?

ReplyDeleteBeing medama milsa lemilsa for other things that "histaklus" is forbidden for is the main chiddush here.
ReplyDeletechaim and dovy j:
ReplyDeleteyou guys are so stale and so predictable (as are the rest of your ilk). Tzig is making a valid argument and all you can do is scream "You too!"
Firstly, by shouting u2, you are implicitly admitting to his premise, that the snag world has begun deifying their gedolim, something you guys have accused chassidim of doing.
Second, instead of slinking away in shame for mocking chassidim and then adopting that practice precisely, you have not a scintilla of intellectual honesty, and all you can do is scream, with your collective pants around your knees.
I think your brains have become krum from learning all that avi ezri.
Actually, on second thought, you guys don't even learn his stuff. In all my years learning in Litvish kollel, I only heard the rosh kollel mention the avi ezri twice in his shiur, and then it was only to schlug him up.
You guys are pathetic, narcissistic, brainwashed, and puerile.
Nebach.
And to Tzig: You're way to aidel for these clowns.
where can you hear it?
ReplyDeleteAvrohom Yeshayohu Eliezer Wagner
ReplyDeleteSince someone decided to co-opt my name in his predictable Chabadsker slander against the Avi Ezri, I feel the need to set the record straight: I do not know of another Avraham Yeshaya Wagner. That is my name. I am a member of a "Litvishe Kollel", and, in my years there and in yeshivos, have benefitted greatly from the Torah of Harav Shach ztvk"l, both in Avi Ezri, and in collections of his letters and shmuessen. Lubavitch has a tactic wherein they try to devalue people who hold views they do not like entirely, but anyone who has a moach bekodkodo knows that Rav Shach's Torah is unimpeachable. If the previous commenter, does, indeed, by some odd coincidence, share my name, I invite him to contact me and we can speak. Otherwise, kindly do not publish your own.krumme views in my name. Thank you.
Real Wagner
ReplyDeleteDoes Rav Shtienman or his bigger chosid Rav Shmuel Auerbach ever quote the Avi Ezri in there torah.
Chabad was correct that Rav Shach was a pumped up Godal by goons and terror squads. and now all the roshie yeshivahs are slowly cleaning up his mess. They still use his name, since its still engrained in the mushy heads that was washed for 3 decades by a massive PR machine. The last person that will close the light on this Meshugaz is the Godal who has still the keys to Daas Torah who for some odd reason sits in Argentina
Above commenter:
ReplyDeleteI am not in the habit of attempting to edify the Internet, nor of responding to ridiculous arguments tossed out by those to whom even the thinnest veneer of derech eretz is foreign. I came here only to repair the damage inflicted on my good name by one who reprehensibly abused it, and whom I am not mochel. If you truly have questions, or ideas you want to discuss, and are able to maintain civility in discourse, I am fairly easy to find, as are others who are far better equipped, and inclined, to debate these issues than I. By your comments, however, I think I am not mistaken in believing that with this I bid you, forever, adieu.
why would somebody use your name like that, out of the blue, Mr. Wagner?
ReplyDeleteWho is this Wagner guy that people should mimick his name. If he his that popular I would advice him to Trade mark it.
ReplyDeleteWith such thin skin, he should get out of the internet and in to a real bieshamedrash, and learn Avi Ezri KJol Ymie Chayov...
Hirshel - would that I knew, so I could perhaps prevent similar offenses in the future.
ReplyDeleteHirshel
ReplyDeleteWith this Wagner leaving, you lost a icon in the bloggers hemisphere...
Chaval Al Hazman
To the fake Wagner,
ReplyDeleteYou really are a sewer rat, ya know?
Btw,how did you drag the Avi Ezri into this? Sice you mentioned it, it is quite a widely learned sefer, and you have obviously not opened to many sifrei kodesh to be a good judge .
Dear Avraham Yeshaya Eliezer Wagner,
ReplyDeleteI don't know who you are and I certainly wasn't attempting to bashmutz you or to put words in your mouth.
Kdarko shel those that post on the internet, i took on a pseudonym, not knowing that it would implicate you.
I'm sorry for any tzaar this caused. It was not deliberate in any way. When posting in the future I'll do it without a name.
I appreciate your honesty, and your apology, but I still find it difficult to understand: yes, people posting on the Internet often do so under assumed names, but a first name, or nickname usually suffices. To pick a full name out of hat, and punkt end up with someone'sreal name, and someone who has a geviste kesher to the inyan, noch der tzu? Something doesn't quite compute.
DeleteAs I said, I don't know you. As for your cheshbon that it is improbable that I took your name out of a hat:
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I'm a relative "greenie" when it comes to blogs and especially posting on blogs. The etiquette and minhagim of this area of the internet are still new to me. I've seen posters with first and last names as well, though admittedly not as much as just first names.
Second, you wrote that your name is Avraham Yeshaya Eliezer, so if I knew you and was trying to implicate you, I would write all three names (or, as highlighted in your name, just Avraham, in which case I would have written just the name by which you are known). I posted as Avraham yeshaya, something which, from your titles, doesn't appear to be the way you are known/addressed.
V'Yisem Nkiyim vchulu.
To "Yoni",
ReplyDeleteWow, it's nice to see that the malicious liar, con-artist and "moderator" of the hate-mongering site "frumteens" visits HT.
