יארצייט - כ"ק אדמו"ר הרה"ק יוסף יצחק שניאורסאהן מאוורוטש זצוקללה"ה
I'm gonna throw this out there and see if it sticks. Today is the Yohrtzeit of RYY of Avrutch, grandfather and namesake of the Frierdige Rebbe and son of the Tzemach Tzedek. He was married to Chana, daughter of Rav Yaakov Yisroel of Tcherkas and, you might say, defied his father and went to accept a rabbonus and a derech against his father's wishes. He became a Rebbe b'derech Tchernobel. Chabad-Lubavitch archives, publicized, via their FB page, a picture some time ago that has an inscription that reads "Itzhak-Joseph Shneerson." Can it be that the picture is either of the Avrutcher or his son Reb Nochem Dov? Here are the תולדות of the Avrutcher from Heichel HaBesht. באדיבות קובץ היכל הבעש"ט

ReplyDeleteIt is quite an interesting life story.
You have to love the story of the grandchild and the Tzemach Tzedek.
ReplyDeleteBlew my mind !
And it works well with another story about the Tzemach Tzedek receiving a brocho from the Alter Rebbe for hatzlocho in limud hatorah.
The picture has no resemblance to any of the portraits of Schneersohns we have and know are authentic. He does not look the ZZ or the Rashab or the Raza or Reb Mendel or the Rayaatz or the Bobroisker or his son Reb Mendel Schneersohn or for that matter BSG.
ReplyDeleteEven Reb Baruch Shimon looks like them but not like the person in the picture and he was an eynikel ben acher ben of the Avratcher.
So I for one doubt this is a portrait of a Schneersohn of the 1st or 2nd generation from the ZZ Zarich Iyun where was this found can you reproduce the inscription.
Thank you tzig It is for such post that I go on your website
ReplyDeleteThe Tzemach Tzedak in the letter, on reb Aron Chernobler calls him constantly Harav Hagoan,
ReplyDeleteHe was not famous for nigleh.
It seems that he did not like this whole Rebbe industry ....
Is there some chasidus left from him?
ReplyDeleteit seems from the HM biography, that he did say some Chasidus to some exclusive chasidim, who were capable...
so after the tchikaser left horinsteifel
ReplyDeletehe left the vaahalin region for the avrutcher
so there was no rebbe at that time in horinsteifel ?
and what about the tchikaser's other sons, im assuming they became rebbes and are the continuation of horensteifel chassidus where did they live?
Besides having the zechus to have the last 3 nesi Chabad as his children etc. he also has the zechus to be the only son(excluding the Rabash who was not a Rebbe) of the ZZ who has grandchildren ben acher ben to be marbitzei Torah in contemporary times namely the children of rav Baruch Shimon Schneersohn in Jslm and elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteIts interesting to note that davka the 2 sons of the ZZ who were not rebbes in the Chabad sense (or in any sense) have ben acher ben desc today who are involved in Chasidic life.
how can they have a photograph?
ReplyDeleteShneur
ReplyDeletewho is the 2nd son?

ReplyDelete"and what about the tchikaser's other sons, im assuming they became rebbes and are the continuation of horensteifel chassidus where did they live?"
The memalie mokam of the cherkasser, was the Reb MD of hornistipel..
and all the Milwaukee family stem from him.
I just read that the miteler rebbe's son married the thkasers daughter (his niece) and his son although his last name was really shneurson called himself twesky and was also a thcherbabol style rebbe
ReplyDeleteP.s. the styplers father was a chosid of his and hence Thats where he got his name from stypler
And the stypler himself was named after the tchikaser
