תמונת הערב - די רבי ר' מיילאך'ס טאנץ
The Bobover Rebbe, (r), and the Veitzener Rov, R. Tzvi-Hirsh Meisels, zt"l, (l), dancing the "Rebbe Reb Meilech's Tantz" by a wedding in the "early years," as is evident from the lack of tznius police... The dance has a pair holding hands and alternatively going "over and under" another paid holding hands. Tough to explain, but if you've seen it you know what I mean. The tune used to accompany the dance is what Y"T Erlich used for his "nisht emes" composition.
The fellow on the right in the second row with the grey hat looks like RAMAS"H.( I know it's not)
ReplyDeleteUncle moishi shabbos shabbos Yom menucha
ReplyDeleteFor the out of towers

ReplyDeleteI have seen this picture in the Hamodia in the past.
ReplyDeleteThe words more famous with this tune is the childrens song 'neiros challos yayin lekidush alles lichvod hashabos"
No yankel the hamodia would never ever ever have even a etzba ktana of a female in its pages Chas vshalom.

ReplyDeleteYou got more pictures? @unknown
ReplyDeleteI think the 2 were brother in laws before the war, they were both SIL of the Limenever ruv..
ReplyDeletecorrect, and after the war his son Reb Naftulche was - I think - the VR's nephew.
ReplyDeletethe Miezels family was considered a family of Geonim in Poland, Gerer chasidim. as soon they landed in Hungary, they became a big clan of rebishe einiklech, with big mouths.
ReplyDelete48 you're talking shtissem.
ReplyDeleteThey were Galizianer, if anything, and not gerrers, tzanzers most likely.
And the current Veiztdener Rav's father was brought to the HUngarian city of Veitzen (oiberland) to be the dayan. After the war he called himself Ruv...
