די מאמע בת-שבע ע"ה
She loved and cared about each and every one of us. I think she'd be tickled silly if she saw what they were doing after she passed away. Because deep underneath it all was a Yerushalayimer meidel who probably had a wicked sense of humor. Who's behind this? The family? I don't know. But where have I seen this kind of project and the same words and catch phrases before?

Rav Elyashiv was almost the גאב"ד עדה החרדית - - TWICE!

Rav Elyashiv's father was a "רב מטעם?" It seems not.
Source
In Russian Yiddish they called it a Kaziyaner Rov. It's funny that the blogger there was not dealing with that issue at all - maybe he overlooked it; He was dealing with the question of whether or not the Elyashivs changed their name only when they went up to Eretz Yisroel, and at the behest of the Chofetz Chaim. He brings this blurb in the Maskilic "המליץ" to prove that he had already taken his shver the בעל הלשם's name beforehand. (speaking "שפת קדשנו" in 1889 is pretty "advanced" if you ask me.) But no, our source tells us that it was another man with the same name, that it was a different Reb Avrohom Elyashiv. A cousin or uncle, perhaps. That the Reb Avrohom who is pictured here was born in 1880 and could be only 9 years at the time of this article. But was Rav Elyashiv's father also a רב מטעם? Even if he wasn't the one mentioned in the המליץ from תרמ"ט? Is it a coincidence that he was Rov in the same town as his relative? We need to get to the bottom of this. Another proof is a מזל טוב wish, also in המליץ, in תרנ"ט on the occasion of his marriage to Chaya Musha, daughter of Rav Shlomo Elyashiv (בעל הלשם).
Wiki definition of רב מטעם

Back in the old days, when Heichel Menachem in Boro Park was still in its infancy, and when videos and such were still treif in the Chassidishe world, a crack marketing team came up with the term "מראות קודש" to describe the farbrengen videos that they would show on occasion. After all, just writing the word "video" on their posters would be reason enough to tear down the signs and ban anyone from ever entering that site. That was pure genius. מראות קודש gives it a whole new perspective, don't you think? Now that Lubavitch kashered videos for the greater Charedi public, and now that בחצרות קדשינו has been appearing for several years now, the time has come for the הויף at חנן10 to produce its own version. And what better time than מוצש"ק to showcase that video! Thanks to a reader for sending it in.

How Rav Yitzchok Yaakov Weisz ז"ל respected all תלמידי חכמים
Received via e-mail:
"You posted about Rav Elyashiv and the Edah. I thought you might be interested in this tidbit of history. Attached is a tshuva of Rav Weisz of the Edah Hacharedis to one of the most rabid of kanoyim in the Satmar (Zali) orbit: R. Moshe Menachem Tirnauer (whom I know personally - I even once heard him give a fiery anti R. Elyashiv drasha in the Satmar Shul in Montreal) Here Rav Weisz dismisses R. Tirnauer and rebukes him for the way he writes about the Machaze Eliyahu. (Rav Falk from Gateshead) In the end Rav Weisz quotes Rav Elyashiv to Tirnauer. Which makes those who know Tirnauer (who BTW recently held a drasha against the Sholem with Belz) chuckle somewhat.
I added directional pointers to the names mentioned."

the עדה החרדית doesn't forget
They do not call for TeFillos for Rav Elyashiv who's critically ill, ה"י
RYSE defied them for decades by serving in the Rabbanut. Now, even after he's become the "Posek haDor" they still can't forgive him. They have Rav Wosner as their own "Posek haDor." The world will go on. No tehillim is necessary. Yet. Maybe they'll cave soon.
