Good old-fashioned Tolner-Chernobler Ahavas Yisroel

Hirshel:

The Skverer Rebbe has a few words on Ahavas Yisroel from the holy Reb Duved'el Tolner. Some of you may be surprised by this (by the Skverrer repeating it) in light of recent happenings in Skver to the contrary, but here it is, black on white. Read them and see what Chassidus was trying to accomplish.

Which reminds me: This Yom Tov I encountered a Rebbishe kind who lately feels sick of the hate machine of a certain Hungarian/Rumanian chassidus, and for example their general gatherings and 70th year celebrations of their leader.... He learned in their Cheder and was bullied for being a Rebbishe einikel from a different "hoyf," which shall for now remain nameless. They used to harass him by lunch break, like, "say with your mouth that Chaim Kanievsky is s zionist and will go to gehenom." Or say "Chaim Meir Viznitzer is a Tziyoni." I explained to him that these kids are good boys, it's only one person's fault, and it's all in his books....  He did not chap the reason of saying nishtakcho is because of the ahavas Yisroel of chassidic seforim. I had to show him inside and how all this hate was manufactured.

The Loyev-Mirapoler Rebbe of Chelsea, Mass. and his connection to JFK

Once upon a time not all frum Jews were Republicans. And once upon a time Rebbes were proud Zionists. Some of them, anyway. At least in Boston. Looks like Jack didn't learn much from his old man. He loved his Jews and their State. This Rebbe was a great-great grandson of Reb Aron, son of Reb Mottele Tchernobeler.

Before the PC madness of our times there was Reb Mottele Kuzmirer...

I've got nothing against שלום and getting along with other groups. I pride myself in being everybody's friend. But that shouldn't be at the expense of your principles. You shouldn't allow yourself to be stepped on. And you stand up for your Rebbes if they're being maligned, especially in public forums. This, I believe, is what the Tzaddik Reb Mottele did here. A son of the holy Trisker Maggid he had the the fire of Chassidus burning in him and he wouldn't respect those that speak out against it. May we merit to see the Geulah Sheleimoh immediately, and may these 3 weeks become weeks of ששון ושמחה בב"א.

"דער שטאט טשארנאביל"

The very talented Reb Aron Feder does a very good job on the Jewish history of the town that literally is no more.  Nuclear explosions will do that - wipe towns off maps. It's ironic how after the rise of Communism the one they turned to for help with their religious needs was none other than the Lubavitcher Rebbe, כ"ק אדמו"ר רבי יוסף יצחק נ"ע,   (and not one of the many Tchernobiler Rebbes, who admittedly no longer lived there...)
