I may have said this in the past, but I remember hearing from my zeide how in Hungary the arrest of the Frierdige Rebbe made great waves despite the fact that they had no real knowledge of the Rebbe of Lubavitch. Here Reb Leibel Cywiak, famous askan for BMG, tells the Rebbe how he was told to say Hallel for the amud in a Gerrer Shtiebel in Warsaw in 1927, when the news of the FR's release reached them.
