Spare not the rod - נאר מיט א פאר פעטש

Read the editorial and tell me what you think. And they say that Rabbi Frankfurter is a "משכיל." Fooey. Why does he play into their hands? There are better and more "enlightened" (sorry) ways to make the same point! Does he not know that a public figure like himself can't go around condoning violence like that, no matter the precedent and no matter what the ים של שלמה says. Some things are best left unsaid unprinted in a public forum. Even I know that and I don't have editors and censors and advisers to remind me of that. Hey! Does he mean me when he attacks those "bloggers/rabblerousers?"

You take that back right now, Rabbi Frankfurter!

New "e-mail only" option!

In the spirit of the Internet Asifa @ Citifield, and being that I listen to Daas Torah in all its forms, I have decided to add an "e-mail only" option, where you can have new posts e-mailed to you and do not need to go online anymore. I too am concerned about your spiritual well being, not just the filter companies... You will have to go to the blog one last time and sign up, though. It's in the right sidebar, a little bit down towards the bottom. Once you enter your e-mail address you will immediately get an email to that account and will asked to verify the address. It will take all of six seconds. ניט מער.  In the spirit of full disclosure I also must admit that one of the things that brought this on, beside for being asked specifically on several occasions, is that I've learned that this humble site has been blocked by certain filters. Yes, the "filteree" must explicitly ask to have all blogs blocked, but still. This cannot be allowed to happen. The channels of communication must remain open and unimpeded.  The last and lone voice of sanity must be heard.

שבע שנים!

Image from Here

It was Sunday, May 22, 2005 (!) when we started doing this. That corresponds to י"ג אייר, which means that today, Shabbos, is 7 (!) years since I first put keyboard to computer page and never looked back. In blogging that's like 50 years, especially those blogs, like us here, that do it only for the sake of heaven, שלא ע"מ לקבל פרס. Since we're Jewish here we'll use the Hebrew date. Maybe I'll buy myself a cake or something. What do you suggest? What are your fondest memories from the blog?

New Blog Design - you like?

What do you think? Do you like the header, the whole thing? both? let us know. I had to change the whole design just to be able to upload the picture for the new header. No. There are no subliminal messages in the picture. I would've liked to keep the old design. It's simple and easy to maneuver, but all good things must come to an end, they say. I also cannot figure out how to transplant things like the e-mail, Facebook and Twitter widgets, as well as some of the other banners that I had. It gives me all kinds of error messages. It'll take a little bit of time until we finalize the look. Please take a moment to vote in the poll on the right, it'll take about 5 seconds, no more. It's the least you can do!
