1) Reb Moshe'nyu of Boyan-Cracow; 2) R' Elimelech MM Landa, Strikover Rebbe; 3) Reb Shlome'le Eiger of Lublin; 4) Mazowecki, der Minsker Shochet. The photo was apparently taken in Vilna. #4 is based on the captions at the source, I have no knowledge either way. - Yad Vashem Photo

Sadigerrer Rebbe sowing Ruchnius in the ד"לי camp - and other links that may be of interest

See More Pics

The Dati Le'umi people are thirsting for inspiration. They're wired for Chassidus, often times much more than Bnei Berakkers. Looks like it's not all Chabad or Breslov either. They'll go anywhere they're accepted. From Toldos Aron to Kretchnif and everything in between. The Sadigerrer Rebbes have a long-standing tradition of having many of these people in their midst, from the old country to Tel Aviv.

R' Shlomo Aviner on his philosophical opponents

They're also pushovers, these very accepting Dati Le'umi people, if you ask me. Why do they turn the other cheek to these who deny their existence and make them into evil heretics? I assume for the same reason they cried on the shoulders of those who banished them from their homes in GK some 10 years ago. I guess the messianic form of Zionism they preach does it to them. It robs them of their self-esteem and self-worth. It teaches them that they deserve to be stepped on and spit at. That's the only reason I could come up with.

It takes work and concentration, and maybe even an accounting degree, to keep track of all the Ruzhiner Rebbes before the war. Like to know that Reb Moshe'nyu, despite being a Boyaner Rebbe, was not a Boyaner Eynikel. He was a Husyatiner who married a Boyaner, and was Reb Menachem Nochum, son of Reb Yitzchok's son-in-law. In other words he was the Lemberger's nephew. Today, after Hitler ימ"ש was done, that job is - unfortunately - alot easier. RAYF was the third son of the holy Pachad Yitzchok of Boyan, grandson of the holy Ruzhiner. RAYF was a Karliner and Tchernobler eynikel as well, his mother being the daugter of Reb Yochentshe Rachmistrivker, and his grandmother, the wife of Reb Avrohom Yaakov Sadigerrer the daughter of Beis Aron. He was known as a great Ohev Yisroel and Baal Tzedokoh where no Jew was turned away empty-handed. A short biography of RAYF can be found in אלה אזכרה ח"ג pages 28-31.

The Story behind the picture

The picture.

The story. (courtesy of "Tiferes Yisroel Ruzhin")

Are all the facts listed here correct? Anybody? I did not know that the Horenstein to whom's levaya the Rebbe went to the East Side was Mendel's brother. I also think that the Rebbe was so concerned about whether or not the Boyaner Rebbe - or Chassidim, rather - allowed for their Rebbe to be touched, shows his concern and respect for the minhogim of other kreizen, as well as the privacy of another human being - if I may so myself.
