Chaim Dalfin's Latest Gem

Press Release: In a new fascinating book, a Lubavitcher in Boro Park, Rabbi Chaim Dalfin, author and Chasidic historian, reveals mysteries about his 28 years living as a Chabad Chossid in the Chasidic neighborhood of Boro Park. Traditionally, Chabad Chasidim live in Crown Heights and many other Chasidic groups live in Boro Park and Williamsburg. Rabbi Dalfin shares his childhood experiences, the struggles, challenges and joys in a most humorous, yet, telling way. He has two entire chapters about two of Boro park’s most interesting places. One, the world famous Shomrei Shabbos shul at 13th Avenue corner 53rd Street. This shul isn’t just another shul. it’s the world’s most used shul, with a twenty-four hour soup kitchen, services from 5AM to 3AM and attracts all kinds of people including people who find peace and solace in the shul.

Chassidic culture or American greed?
A response to an earlier article article in NY Magazine. It seems like every wayward teenager now looks to make a name for him or herself by trying to make his or her people look bad. If they can't dredge up some accusation of abuse, then we're racists and worse.  And we plot and scheme how to shaft the goyim. Which is what the initial piece, which the above piece seems to be contesting, is all about. Crown Heights must be real proud of Ms. U.... NOT.[That didn't used to happen in the old days. You didn't spit like that in the well you drank from.]

In book news...

If you thought you were the velt's chochom who knew all the "secrets" over all the generations, all the stories that Chabad tries to "cover up" because it's so terribly "embarrassed" by them - this book is for you. As if. Portraits include: "Reb Nochum the Mitteler Rebbe's son, "DER MALACH," Reb Mendel Schneersohn בן אדמו"ר מהר"ש, and Berke Gurary.  If you're a Barry Gurary fan only because you hate The Rebbe and Lubavitch - and you know who you are - read the book and you might actually learn a few things. You may actually be surprised that a whole lot of what you heard about all of the above is hearsay, half-truths, and even lies. The book is due out today and can be ordered through Jewishinfo.org or e-mail RCD at info@rabbidalfin.com. Now let me see Satmar put out a book about The Satmar Rebbe's daughter and what was done to her, or such similar events... And they say Chabad has secrets. Ha!

פרסום ראשון! גילויים חדשים מזקני החסידים

The clip we bring you here makes its debut here on the blog. These are recordings of telephone conversations that the interviewer - שלא מאנ"ש - had with Reb Avrohom Mayorer. The first 15 minutes of the recordings that we have. RAM had a shaychus with many non-Lubavitchers, as you know. Reb Avrohom's Yiddish could be difficult to understand at times, but it gets easier with time. Truth be told, the conversation could be difficult to listen to at times, because some of the questions are not what a young Lubavitcher would ask from RAM were he to have the opportunity. But ultimately, these questions needed to be asked, no? This is a 15 minute sample of many hours. There are more of these discussions with other Chassidim as well. So, go out and buy your copy now!

Please enjoy.

The following press release was issued by Rabbi Chaim Dalfin:

We release never before historical information about what happened in Lubavitch 100 years ago. The information is related by the venerable Chasid, the Mashpia, Reb Avrohom Drizin-Mayorer who learnt in Lubavitch during those years. Reb Avrohom says it the way it was without holding anything back. To truly understand Lubavitch today these CD recordings are crucial to listen too.
