In book news...

If you thought you were the velt's chochom who knew all the "secrets" over all the generations, all the stories that Chabad tries to "cover up" because it's so terribly "embarrassed" by them - this book is for you. As if. Portraits include: "Reb Nochum the Mitteler Rebbe's son, "DER MALACH," Reb Mendel Schneersohn בן אדמו"ר מהר"ש, and Berke Gurary.  If you're a Barry Gurary fan only because you hate The Rebbe and Lubavitch - and you know who you are - read the book and you might actually learn a few things. You may actually be surprised that a whole lot of what you heard about all of the above is hearsay, half-truths, and even lies. The book is due out today and can be ordered through Jewishinfo.org or e-mail RCD at info@rabbidalfin.com. Now let me see Satmar put out a book about The Satmar Rebbe's daughter and what was done to her, or such similar events... And they say Chabad has secrets. Ha!

Sadigerrer Bonus

Photo from Bechatzros (ha)Chassidim

(l-r) RAYF of Sadiger, unknown, the chosson, Reb Nosson Eichenstein the mechutan Reb Shmerel Gurarie, z"l. That's right, a Lubavitcher took a Peylishe Chossid for an eydem. And, noch, the son of a Gutter Yid! The bochur behind Reb Shmerel is the Chosson's brother, Reb Yissocher Berish, who would later be the Ziditchoiver Rebbe in Petach Tikvah, and IIRC he later became a Mechutan with the Spinker Rebbe of 56th Street....

Here's what I found out From Yiddish Wiki about the Eichenstein Chosson: He was a son of Reb Shia of Grosvardein, who passed away in 1945. Reb Shia was the son of Reb Osher Shaya of Prachnik, the son of Reb Yisocher Berish of Veretzki, Baal "Malbush LeShabbos VeYom Tov." Reb Berish was a son of Reb Sender of Ziditchoiv, who was a son of Reb Ahzikel Ziditchoiver, zt"l. Reb Ahzikel was a nephew of Reb Hershelle Ziditchoiver, the Ateres Tzvi. The Ateres Tzvi was the son of the first Reb Aizik of Ziditchoiv, who had 5 sons, במסל"ה, Berish, Moshe, Sender, Lipa, Hershel, and on them he said the Posuk במסל"ה נעלה, with his 5 sons vet men aroyf gein...

Reb Berish of Ziditchoiv

Reb Moshe of Sambur

Reb Sender of Komarna

Reb Lipa of Sambur

Reb Hershelle of Ziditchoiv.

Some of the Rebbishe Hoyfen that originate from Ziditchoiv, include Komarna, Ziditchoiv, Spinka, Koson, Tosh and others. I can't think if there was any family relation to Ruzhin/Sadiger, which is why I'm wondering why the Sadigerrer Rebbe would be bagleyten the Chosson here. Maybe because he was a Yossom, since his father passed away in Groswardein? And we won't ask why Gurarie took a non-Lubavitcher for an eydem, since it had happened before, with I believe Hirshel Gurarie being an eydem by the Radziner Rebbe, and because Der Eibershter iz mezaveg zivugim, און אפ'ן אייבערשטען פרעגט מען קיין קשיות ניט
