The Loyev-Mirapoler Rebbe of Chelsea, Mass. and his connection to JFK

Once upon a time not all frum Jews were Republicans. And once upon a time Rebbes were proud Zionists. Some of them, anyway. At least in Boston. Looks like Jack didn't learn much from his old man. He loved his Jews and their State. This Rebbe was a great-great grandson of Reb Aron, son of Reb Mottele Tchernobeler.

Very touching story but I find it hard to believe that Joseph Kennedy a known Anti-Semite would bring his son to a Rebbe for a blessing.

Kennedy: "I need your blessing again rabbi, Kennedy said, ever the politician, said he can use some Jewish "votes" and the rabbis best wishes for his success as well"

rabbi: "Boston Jewish community is preparing to celebrate israels 10th anniversary! could you give 10 minutes of your time, to address the celebration"

Kennedy was open in intent, he needs votes! the rebbe needed "credits" with the israelis before making his "aliyah" which they demanded than, was not open with his motivation on his request. Never the less its politics in its raw! so what's new?

I always Knew the chernobler Kids that the name started with the Ois Tes, Like Tolne Trisk Cherkas Chernobel did say torah.....

הספה"ק מאור עיניים, מר' מנחם נחום מטשערנאבל נכתב מפי תלמידו "המשמיע" לפי האגדה החסידית, הספר היה במקורו עבה פי 18, אך רבי נחום שרף את מרבית כתב היד ואישר רק קומץ קטן להדפסה. רבי נחום הסביר שבדפים ששרף היו דברי תורה שהוא זוכר אותם ונאמרו במחשבה תחילה על-פי תכנון, וכי הוא איננו רוצה בהדפסתם, ואילו הקומץ הקטן שהסכים להדפיס הוא דברי-תורה ש"לא נאמרו מפי" אלא נאמרו בבחינת "שכינה מדברת מתוך גרונו" ולכן הוא רואה זאת כסימן משמים להדפיסם ולהפיצם
