I think the Rebbe is the one not doing the looking here, the PR looks a little lost altogether. I see you attribute "Ruach HaKodesh" to the Ponovizher Rov, aye? even his biggest admirers didn't go that far!
sometimes letting stupid comments pass actually supports my cause. This is one of those times.
I gotta go home and look up who's wedding it was.
I'm sure there were some words exchanged, at least formalities. The Ponovizher Rov was not one of the modern-day haters. How he hired you-know-who is beyond me, he must've regretted it later.
I'm sure such moments, where guests at a table aren't talking and just thinking, are common at all gatherings. Nice picture, but no controversy. And as has been pointed out, the PR was the type to avoid confrontation.
No I'm not certain at all. In fact, when I got my first glance of the picture, I thought it was the RaYYaTZ! I still think it looks like him. But if the host says it's the PR, I'll go along.
I guess it may be the Ponoviesz rav. But was he in the US in the war years I thought he was in Israel and travel in those days was both dangerous and not cheap. So I think there is reason to express doubt about the identity of the rav in the picture.|Perhaps it was the Novominsker rebbe of CH or Rav Karlinsky ??
Its me again , In all seriousness I don't think that that is Rav Kahaneman. Its a nice shot of the rebbe ZT"L though. And R. Gourary looks impressive as well.
But this picture was before 1950 as the rebbe was clearly not the Nasih when the phot was taken, Was the P. rav here during the war and when Israel was fighting the Arabs ?
The Ponovizher was everywhere, literally. Theres a story that people were discussing whether there was life on the moon. The Satmar Rebbe ZY"A said that if there was, the Ponovizher would have been there already.

No coincidence.
Its just that the Ponovizer Rov didnt want to lower himself to talk to a "MOSHIACH SHEKER"
(Notice how he is refraining from being 'mistakel p'nei rasha')
Another sick ani litvish dumb post by the circus tent.....this blog is soooooooo dead.

Your aunt suizy???? What's that supposed to mean? Mistakel "p'nei" roshoh???? What's with these guys?

Are you people certain that the man is the Ponoviezer rav ?

I am certain, and I'm shocked at Kurenitzer for doubting it. Yehupitz, you too.

Kurenitzer, please. It was probably after the war and he was here collecting money for the Yeshivah. The Novominsher Rebbe? I don't think so.
The Pon. Rav was several times in the US in the 50's and/or 60s, and I know for a fact that he was in yechidus with the Rebbe.
But this picture was before 1950 as the rebbe was clearly not the Nasih when the phot was taken, Was the P. rav here during the war and when Israel was fighting the Arabs ?

This was by R' Eli Chaim Carlbach's wedding.
