Tzig,
In honor of yud shvat, please print something interesting about Lubavitch, such as the internal machlokes going on in Shturem between the editor of Kfar Chabad, and their greatest researcher, Yehoshua Mondshine. It's more interesting than the fur of the SR's coat... :)

Kovner

I started writing about it, but I cannot follow all the chapters in the saga. maybe you can give us a synopsis of the battle?

I'm not an "insider", so I don't really know both sides of the story. I only see what Halperin publishes online.I also know there are old grievances against Mondshine. Plus I don't know if this is part of the general meshichist vs non-meshichist machlokes.I'm sure you have your sources to figure this out... let me add one personal anecdote. Many years ago I asked Mondshine if the stories told by the Mahariyat"z zt"l were true. His response: "as a chosid, I have to believe them; as a researcher, I don't!" Incidentally, at the same time I asked Flintinshtein (before he became Kopitchnitzer Rebbe)the same question. His response:"Every chassidus has it's passed down stories, including for example Rizhin. And as time developes we keep finding proofs for all those rizhiner stories, e.g. names mentioned in the stories pop up in other places too. But never are any proofs found for the FR stories!"
