After seeing the TA post, I recall my previos thumbs-down. HT - You're on the money, but you should link or mention the mentalblog post in yours - to give it a context.
To all you "anons" out there: First of all, give HT some credit and inquire after his intentions if you can't figure them out, don't jump to conclusions and shoot off on the mouth. Apparently, he targets a higher denomination than you. Secondly, if you take the time to post a comment, why in the world can't you take the time to use an identifying handle?? If you ring someone's bell and expect to be admitted into their house, you have to identify yourself first! Thirdly, if you read our host's posts (there's a tongue twister for you) you'd see that this is an oft-occuring theme in his writings: the double standard that non-chabad jewry employs in regards to chabad. Personally, I think that directing our complaints to them is barking up the wrong tree for two reasons: A. Their feelings towards us is built on hundreds of years of prejudice that would at the very least take a few generations to undo. B. The famous vort of the Besh"t Z"l on the mishna, En odom ro'eh nega chutz, m'nigei atzmo...
N: I've only posted a few times here and have used the same handle from the beginning. I'm not sure whether or not I know you, but I'm probably not the person you're alluding to.
After Rav Dr. Itzhak halevi Herzog the chief rabbi of Israel mt the P. in Rome in 1946 to shtadel that Jewish kids be released from monasteries he made haste by taxi to the Rome mikveh. This was a "kalte Misnaged" from the Mizrachi. And there are no pictures to commemorate that time. Today we have chassidic rabbonim Chabad or Stolin or Even Israel meeting with high ranking galochim and the pictures are published to commemorate such important events. Tell us did Bleich , Lazar and Even israel go to the Mikve after the meetings ?
Kurenitzer In 1946 the digital age had not dawned yet. Bleich's pic is in Kiev, his hometown. Lazar was at some sort of "interfaith" conference, also in his hometown, so none of them actually went "running". The Mikveh I cannot vouch for.
