The new "Maggid" and his trip to Vilna
I detect a conspiracy here. It's no coincidence that Artscroll put only 12 pages, till we get to today's situation, online. It'll be very interesting to see how they handle the conflict there.
Did Paysach Krohn officially inherit the title Maggid from Reb Sholom Shwadron? Was there a will to that effect? Have you ever seen a Maggid without a beard? Did they travel to the Chasidishe sites in Lithuania and Belarus? places like Slonim, Stolin, Pinsk and other centers? I wonder.
(Mottel tips his hat to ASJ, so I will too.)

I seem to recall that this "maggid" was discussed here in the past, no?
But all this stuff is just more of the same - the organized and focused effort to invalidate Chassidim. So, although Chassidus had already seemed to have won that war, they got lazy and these insurgents and revisionists have brought the opposition back to life (albeit in a modified form), and this time they may actually win - Unless Chassidic leaders wake up.
Unfortunately, these modern-day-misnagdim have a valid point; the Chassidic movement has been so corrupted, we really have invited this...
In case you missed it:

'meila a Magid with out a beard, but a mohel?!
"the Chassidic movement has been so corrupted, we really have invited this..."
I am happy some Chassidim are honest.
" and this time they may actually win"
בס"ד,בב"א !
"Did Paysach Krohn officially inherit the title Maggid from Reb Sholom Shwadron?"
Was R. Schwadron the only maggid that ever existed ? He had exclusive rights to that title for eternity ?
"Have you ever seen a Maggid without a beard?"
Some people have difficulty growing facial hair medically. That may be the case here.
"Did they travel to the Chasidishe sites in Lithuania and Belarus? places like Slonim, Stolin, Pinsk and other centers? I wonder."
Do Lubavitchers take the people they bring to see 'Jewish Brooklyn' from out of town to Litvishe mosdos, or even Jewish neighborhoods other than Crown Heights where Chagas Chassidus is dominant ?
Snag
when Krechts says the "Chassidic movement" he means mostly the Hungarians, those to whom Chassidus is colorful robes and the like. Others are alive and well. As corrupt as a Yeshivah on a hill in Bnei Brak that'll remain nameless.
Rabbi Krohn got the title Maggid from writing about RSS, don't play dumb. I guess after his "Rebbe" passed away he figured "Hey, why not take his place? Using your logic I guess Rabbi Frand is a Maggid too?
Was he hired by a Lithuanian Misnagdic group to do the tour? we know that Lubavitch "pushes" Lubavitch, but is he in the Litvish-pushing business? We want to know. Don't play neutral with me if you're not.
BTW, The Lubavitch run "Frum Tour of NY" (run by a group of meshichistin, if I'm not mistaken) take their tourists to BP and BP shuls and individual BP (non-Lubavitch) personalities.

1) If he was his talmid in being a maggid, and there is no other mimaleh mokom that was close to R. Sholom z"l in that aspect of his life, at least not in the USA and the English speaking world, why not ?
2) How do you know he took the title by himself, maybe someone else gave it to him or the masses just dubbed him that after he became so associated with R. Sholom in the public mind ? Maybe Artscroll dubbed him that ?
"Was he hired by a Lithuanian Misnagdic group to do the tour? we know that Lubavitch "pushes" Lubavitch, but is he in the Litvish-pushing business?"
1) I think he was hired by a travel agent.
2) When people go to the Litvishe part of Europe, they want to see Litvishe things. For the record, he also did a tour with alot of Chassidishe stuff, to Poland, where Chassidus was dominant. You can buy it and watch it.
RPK is not a hard-line snag (if he is one at all - he davens in a nusach sfard place I think), he speaks regularly and favorably about Chassidim and Rebbes, including about a relative of his that's a Chossid.
I think he is shvach in that inyan actually.

That may be, but other Lubavitcher tours don't. They give people the impression that Crown Heights is the ikkar frum neighborhood in NY. Give me a break...
Tzig
Cut out your beard bias already, won't you? For Lubavitch it's very important for others less so(and don't get me started about who did not have a beard in Lubavitch history)
Peysach Krohn is a very good speaker who shies away from politics. Are you jealous that his books and tapes sell well, while your crummy website gets very few hits??(btw, this is the place to thank you for giving me the address for some very well written blogs, that you just can't seem to dislike enough. Harrys' amongst them. Those guys get real hits, you get chai shpai)
Oh reallllly BP?
So who do you claim didn't have a beard, all-knowing one?

Just so you know, Krohn has being doing these trips for a couple of years already.I have a couple of the cd's from Frankfurt, where he visited the Yenuka of Karlin for example , also. The trip I have also has the Chasam Sofers tomb etc.He visits chasidishe rebbes too.
I found the tapes interesting
I saw some video clip of him in kelm, crying like his whole family was r"l just killed. It was a bit over the top if you ask me. Vos Hut er mit Kelm az er veint azoi shtark? it seemed fake to be honest.
boropark
all you have to do is attack Lubavitch and you get endless hits. Ask Harry to write something of substance, better yet check the threads that deal with subjects not critical of the frum world and you'll see how many hits he gets. You like Harry, be my guest, join him in his sorry world.
Peysach is a good speaker, I don't deny that, but he's good for Vayber, and should not be counted on for policy matters or matters of Torah and Yiras Shomayim.
'All you have to do is attack Lubavitch and you get endless hits'
And why is that pray tell?
When I was a kid that taught us 'halucho eisav soneiy leyaakov' are you now extending it to 'all Jews hate Lubavitch'?C'mon you are being ridiculous.Reminds me about a certain ethnic group that for wahatever reasons (poverty etc)is more prone to crime, when they get caught they always have a reason 'because of my ethinicity'.If what you imply is true, that Lubavitch is widely criticised in the Jewish world there must be a reason. Please don't tell me that living in Crown Heights, you picked up that groups reason for always being 'picked upon'.It never has anything to do with them.,,,,,,,,,
I would like to meet the one who snagged boropark. Azoi tif arein in kop...
Hmmm
Boro Park suffers from a major inferiority complex. They're not Chassidish enough in their eyes (as compared to Williamsburg) and are seen as overly materialistic in the eyes of communities like Lakewood. So what to do? simple. You dress yourself in the clothes of a zealot and look for a group that can easily be attacked and make you look like a Kano'i to boot. Who is that group? why it's Lubavitch of course!
Then you start sending your boys to Yeshivos like Brisk and Slabodka, because only there do they know how to learn a blatt Gemorah. The end result is what you see guys like BoroPark spewing, pure and simple drivel.
