Whom do we blame for this? for the silly Haskomes on the flyer pictured here.

Is that really the best they could do?

Have they no self-respect?

Meyer Gutnick: is this the best you can do?

Chaim Miller: was this the result of a brainstorming session?

Wow - I am constantly (I guess I really shouldn't be) amazed by the sheer lack of basic Chassidishe attittudes shared by my fellow Lubavitchers

That's what happens when you burn all your proverbial bridges. You have nobody but Norman Lamm and Karen Bacon (is she Jewish or does she run the social studies dept. at Stern?) to turn to.

I think I know Chaim Miller, and based on the work he does he seems to be a smart man, but his decision here seems puzzling to me. Is this what it takes to make the Chumash popular, cater to the lowest levels of observance amongst Orthodox Jews?

Jews are satisfied with תורת משה, but Lubavitchers need תורת גוטניק.

to be fair to Chaim Miller and Meyer Gutnick, who should they go for a Haskomoh? Rabbi Scheinberg? would he give a Haskomoh? do we want his letter of approbation at all?

Are we catering solely to the MO/Chabad House crowd? If so then maybe the choices are not half bad. They do have Rabbi Zinner you know.

1) Chabad houses often cater to the lowest levels of observance: leaving the parking lot open, giving kibudim to the non-observant money man over the observant kohen (which is a bizarre corruption of mamzer talmid chacham vs. kohen am haaretz), etc.

2) How do haskamot from YU people "cater to the lowest levels of observance" except in the eyes of those fools who identify "modern orthodox" with "lax on halacha". I'd draw your attention to recent debates between R' Herschel Schachter (YU) and R' Yisroel Belsky (black hat) on bugs in the water and on treif milk. RHS is machmir, RYB is meikel.

I am a big, big "fan" of Reb Hershel Schachter. I'm actually listening to this lecture right now. Belsky doesn't come to his Pyates. I don't consider him part of the MO crowd.

Your attack on Chabad houses is ludicrous.
