I just saw Rav Shteinman's Sefer on Brisk that Reb Chaim had the same view like the Chazon Ish. This has to be promoted and made public for all to see. Especially the Miller guy from the Sefer on that subject who is coming up with all kinds of chumrahs.

(If the bug is sufficiently large to be assur, it is by definition a birya. If it's assur, despite looking like a speck, it is also a birya. Hence "chatzi shiur" and kezayis are totally irrelevant.)
