The Satmar Rov's visit to the Belzer Rov in 1955 - Belzer version

Must-read if you're into hock like this, and especially if until now only read the Satmar version of this visit. No words are minced. It seems like the Satmar Rov took it very personally, and was visibly quite upset that the BR and the Tchebiner Rov would not accept his view on the matter. Also going as far as to tell them that they'll yet see the err of their ways and will still accept his view as daas torah. There's also the story of the SR's droshoh where he attacked the BR, and subsequently most people who attended went to ask mechilah. I don't recall ever seeing the part about Reb Meilech Ahkenazi of Melbourne being chucked out of the room.

1949 - Chassidishe Rebbes calling for a חזית דתית מאוחדת

It happened once and lasted 21/2 years, from Feb.1949 to Aug.1951. And I don't believe it ever happened again. Agudah, Poalei Agudah, Mizrachi and HaPoel HaMizrachi. Anybody know why? Do you notice anything about the signatures? That's right, there are only Chasidishe Rebbes on it. Not a single non-Hasid. No Litvishe Rabbonim nor Rosheshives.  Did Kol korehs work that way? separate but equal? Judging from the fact that The Agudah was not all Chassidish I would assume that the Litvishe Gedolim also supported this united front, so why did they not all sign together? And why did it never happen again? Who backed out? Who decided against it? What were the Brisker Rov and Chazon Ish's opinions about the bloc? Were they for it before they were against it? I cannot recall at the moment and am having a hard time finding it in the history books.

Read about the Religious Bloc that got 16 MKs in the 1949 elections

לשיטתך - מיר פארשטייען בעסער

נגד חוברת ''אור הצפון'' מבעלזא

Satmar has always "suffered" from this affliction; they always knew what the other guys need to do based on what HIS seforim say. Like I was told recently in a comment, that I should "l'shitoscho" when arguing a point, and that Satmar does it very well. They tell the Lubavitchers what the Rebbe Rashab wrote, and the Belzer what the Rebbe Reb Soocher Dov held. The SatmarRov tried to convince his son, The Holy Reb Ahron Belzer that he wasn't acting in accordance with what "Belz" had opined pre-WW2. Recently the Belzer אור הצפון publication has irked the Satmarer more than usual, and they decided to take action and attack. They used their "big dog," Menashe Fulop, who they all loved when they were all one team, but npw that he's on the "Zali" side has very few admirers left. The circular and irrelevant arguments and logic used here should be made into a case study of how NOT to argue an issue, question like "ווי קען מען זאגן אזא זאך אויף דער הייליגער רבי ישכר דוב?" and others like that don't win arguments in the face of facts on the ground, but that doesn't keep them from "keeping on keeping on."

All because "זיי פארשטייען בעסער"
