Speaking of Rebbes; On the way in to work this morning the Ipod was playing one of MBD's albums, "Ein Od Milvado," where one of the song's is "The Rebbe's Nigun." The Rebbe he speaks of is the Ribnitzer Rebbe, zt"l, to whom Mordche was very close from when he arrived in the States back in the '70s. After his passing he's been splitting his time between the Amshinover in Bayit Vegan and Reb Itche Meir Morgenstern. I guess it takes more than one Rebbe to replace the Ribnitzer... When you listen to Mordche's words, how he describes his Rebbe, and what he longs for, you realize how we've gone so far downhill in such a short time. The adjectives he uses are no longer in use when we speak of Rebbes today - or "Gutte Yidden", as some people would call them. Words like עבודה, קדושה, תעניתים, תיקון חצות, בעל מופת, and on and on. They no longer exist. Today we speak about menorah heights, color of bekitshe, rows of bleachers at the tish and the vacations to Palm Springs and Fluriddeh. Of course not everybody was a Ribnitzer back 100 years ago either, but there was one or two. Now there are none.

Important thing to have in mind, that the Ribnitser was not a REBESHE EINIKEL (even thoug he was a gabbe by the Stefineshter Rebbe, and was mekabel a lot from him).
the Niggun itself is a Moradike Tenua, that the Ribnitzer used to sing, I think it is from the Shtufeneshter,

That's what i am saying :) I am a chusid of one of not-rebeshe einiklech also- welcome to the club!
But even the Ribnitser was not a Stafineshter, Avir Yakov or Boyaner-thats for sure . Geboiren ofn barg iz a zach-just some people forget that you have to do something about it also :) Majority of today's rebes with yichus are or kids of who-know-who (professors etc.)so they do not know what a rebbe is, or already 2nd dor today's rebes-besides the fact that they are nothings themselves.So, tratei l'reuse for today's guys. Too bad-just not on me :)

Rashi does not say that all shoftim are equal, the opposite, Rashi is saying that eventough they are not the same you have to listen to them.

It is RIBNITS, NOT RIMNITS.

I am not chassidish, not by a long shot. But something about the Ribnitzer is different. When things got real tough, I went to his tziyon and felt elevated in my avodas hashem for weeks afterward.
I cannot add or even say anything about him, lest I detract.
